Title: Cosmetic SRS for cheap

Does anyone know of any surgeons here in the US, who could perform a "cosmetic SRS" procedure for a significantly cheaper price than regular SRS? What that entails is basically constructing an external vulva-like genital configuration without the vaginal canal. So far, the quotes I'm getting are in the $14K to $20K range, which is ridiculous because this surgery requires a lot less work. Thanks in advance.

Much of the expense is not just the surgeon, but also the surgical team, the anesthesiologist and surgical suite. Yes there is less to do, and so less time in the operating room, but there are basic costs that cannot be reduced.

Even if you see yourself as lesbian and moreover think that you will never want any form of penetrative sex, think carefully before making a decision that will limit your future possibilities and would also be quite invasive to repair at a later date.
There is not much money to be saved and it will limit your choice of surgeons.

As Sandy points out, most of the costs are not from the actual procedure, but the numbers of other staff who must also be in attendence.
I confess to feeling a lot of sympathy for you. Could you opt for an orchidectomy as a start? That would, at least, allow you to proceed without having to take too many meds, other than eostrogen. It will also give you that psychological boost that you have begun.

I already had my orchiectomy, and I it was the best thing for me at that time. Now I need to make the next step in my life. Thanks for the sympathy though.

I'm actually just not interested in sex, penetrative, penetrating or any other form of it. I'm also not interested in dialating for the rest of my life. I don't want to get something that I'm never going to use. I'm comfortable with my choices and values, and they reflect who I am and not what society or doctors want me to be.

Thanks for pointing that out. I never considered that.
