Title: My Introduction
Post by: tgchar21 on July 08, 2010, 05:23:49 PM
Hello everyone! I hope I'm welcome here, because I'm not TS but I like writing my own stories and I thought about incorporating a transgender character in one of them. If it's okay I may be asking a few questions along the line about what to incorporate in the story for said character (in the story I'm thinking about the transgender person will be MTF).

If you're wondering what the "21" in my username refers to, a hint is it's a card game I like playing (mostly for fun and not real stakes though).

Welcome.
Please read everything you can find related to our experiance and chalenges. Most cisgender writers who attempt to write a trans character into their novels fail miserably to even come close to our experiance.
Read our naratives, and the resource library. Hang out on this forum and become well versed in our issues and when you feel comfortable writeing about a trans character...re-read and re-evaluate.
I highly doubt that as a cisgender writer you can truely understand us but it seems a noble enough endevour.

Hey, welcome!  I always admire a writer.  I wish you luck on this project.  As said, do your research and ask questions so you can gain as thorough an understanding as ya can!  ;)
