Title: Restarting E, maybe T too
Post by: glendagladwitch on July 15, 2010, 06:41:44 PM
I restarted E today after more than a year without a drop.  And I really only took about 90 pills over the past ten years, so this is going to be a big deal for me.

I stopped E because I got really tired of going to the doctor, and I had some problems a few years ago running into difficult doctors that make it as inconvenient as possible.  But this most recent doctor has been great.  Mostly, I just hated the daily reminder of the pills.

I always heard you really need one hormone or the other to stay healthy, and now I believe it.  I'm like an old person now.  Lots of aches and pains.  Out of breath walking across the room.  I hope the E helps to fix it.

Meanwhile, I also talked to my doc about getting a small T supplement, which I see is common these days.  I have no sex drive at all, and very low energy levels.  My doc was down with it, and she even has a natal female patient who takes a small T supplement with her E.  She's going to see what my T levels are at and let me know.

Now I'm going to sit here and wait for my nipples to start cramping.

I went without hormones so long that I have severe osteoporosis along with the muscle weakness.  I think you will probably feel a lot better - and T will sure increase your libido.

BTW, have you had a dexascan of your bones?

Best wishes!

No Dexascan, no.

I do have a lot of back pain and I went to a chiropractor a few weeks ago and he x-rayed my spine.  He said my spine has curved in two places and the vertebra are starting to fuse, but it's not too late for him to fix me.  So I'm going to a chiropractor 3 times per week.

I was always told that, because I had a male puberty, I would never have to worry about osteoporosis.  Is that not the case?

Even if you went through a male puberty you can still get osteoporosis if your body is not getting either male or female hormones.  Usually males are not at risk for osteoporosis because they do not go through any type of menopause as women do.

A dexascan will let you know how dense your bones are.  I had a dexascan done in my mid 30's for a baseline reading but found out that I already had moderate osteoporosis.  Though I went through male puberty, at least partially, I never continued my T regularly enough to prevent bone problems.

Not to worry you, just something you might want to think about or talk with your doctor about.  Might ask your doctor about calcium supplements too.
