Hi all,
Thanks for all your replies on the pre op page. I went for my GRS/SRS yesterday at about 5.40pm. I was fairly chilled until they took me down and I had a little nervousness as they put the needles in. The surgery went well but i violently sick coming out of the anaesthetic and they had to give me an injection to stop the nausea. I'm in a little pain and on a 1-10 scale its probably 3/4. I lying on my bed flat trying to touch type, lol. Feeling rather sleepy so will sigh off and say good by for now.
Its wonderful to be on the other side even though I have not seen my frankinpussy yet, lol.
Stardust
P.s have to try and change that ticker now, lol.

The pain probably peaks sometime during day two. I found that once I got through that without needing any meds it was pretty plain sailing from there on. But don't be a heroine, if you need them then take them.
I wouldn't bother about the ticker now...
Anyway welcome to the end of the beginning! :D
Edit - which room are you in. When Alison had her BA back in the days of Mike Royle and Mr Porter she went in there and was, I think, in one on the top floor...

Hi Jenny and all,
Yeah, the club of 2010, will have to have a big international get together sometime.
I'm on the top floor in room 11. Can see the sea from my bed and I want to go to the beach down there but they will not let me, lol.

Thankfully I'm in a private room with en suit facilities but I have the door open most of the time to see all the goings on. Bandages are not to high, lol.

Just an update,
I had my two drains out today and that felt really strange as they drew them out. It felt like a drawing sensations and someone pulling on the inside. It was sore for a while afterwards and one hole bleed a bit. Been feeling a little faint headed for most of the day and can hardly keep my eyes open. I am due to get out of bed tomorrow so that will be interesting.

Hiya, yes I have, so cool, not very swollen and it looks really neat. My surgeon came in today again to see me and he said it was a nice result, talk about boasting, lol. Still needs to settle down a lot though. I only saw it because they decided to change the dressing and asked if I wanted to see so they got my mirror and I said, OMG that looks really neat. I am so pleased with the aesthetics even now without the months of healing.
Only one problem my catheter came out and had to be put back in, owwww.
How are you?

Hiya, I live in the UK and so Mr Philip Thomas was my surgeon at the Nuffield, Brighton, as they say like a 5 star hotel and the staff are fantastic. I think UK surgeons get missed as a possible. I had funding from the NHS so it was all paid for. He has private patients as well so I figured if people were willing to pay that must count for something. I also spoke to a number of girls both private and NHS about the outcome of their surgery. He was also very helpful at my consultation and I was very specific about the aesthetics and being sensate. Well I don't know about the sensate yet, lol but the appearance is cool even now which isn't a good indicator. I also got a reasonable depth of 5 inches considering I was more concerned about the above than depth. He is also one of the cheaper surgeons here around £10,000/$15500 I think but don't quote me, lol.
Hope that helps

Hiya,
Its been the worst of times and the best of times. I have been really light headed today but this has subsided this evening. I had my pack removed today and I have dilated twice and douched once. Its then a three times a day routine for me from tomorrow. I am due out Thursday, I hope.
I have a little urethral bleed but that's all. Its the light headedness that has put me back a little today as I so much wanted to walk around but couldn't until this evening.
How are you doing?

Hey Stardust,
Congratulations Sis.
I too went to the Nuffield in Brighton. Mr. Thomas's mentor did mine back in 2000. Michael Royle.
I agree about the UK docs. Royle did exceptional work as I am sure Thomas does.
As for treatment at the hospital. 5 star all the way. I didn't want to leave it was that cushy.
Congrats again Sis.

Hi all,
Just an update. I was discharged on Thursday and it was touch and go. I have had problems peeing and had/have to strain to pee. I was not emptying my bladder properly and I was really down and felt like hell. I didn't want to drink because it hurt so much to pee. Anyway they did a couple of scans on my bladder on Thursday (was supposed to be discharged at 10am and it was 1.30pm) and they were satisfied I was emptying it enough to go home without a catheter in, phew.
Things are a little easier but there are time when it still feels tight. I had problems with the catheter while in hospital. The balloon deflated and they still put it back in because they thought it was working. My urethra by then was bleeding. I woke at 9pm saying I still didn't think it was OK this was on the Tuesday night. By 5am Wednesday morning I was in agony and they decided to take the catheter out and see what was wrong and discovered it was not working properly (I told them that hours ago). Anyway they tried to get hold of the surgeon and It was eventually solved but it was a good 18hours and had these consequences now on my peeing. I had not moved my bowls either for six days and that too was pushing on my bladder causing me to have to strain to pee.
By this time I had begun to think I had made the wrong decision to have GRS/SRS. I was climbing the walls. I'm now staying with a friend for a month and she's helping me recuperate before going home to my house. I now sitting here with several dilations under my belt thinking how great life is. It was not an easy birth, lol. Nevertheless life is good and only time is needed to heal fully.
This now is so wonderful I cannot describe how it feels apart from the word "complete."

good to hear you are on the mend.
Sadly problems like that seem to be quite common - I think I've been lucky not to have them on either occasion.
Don't forget our coffee appointment - if you fell strong enough.

Hi Dutchess,
Yeah, kind of sucks doesn't it, they don't show you the fine print until after the op. lol. Hope you ae on the mend too.
Thanks Jenney, noted and will be in touch when out and about. There is a restaurant just around the corner, metres from me that we could go to for a coffee. Will send PM when I'm feeling able.
Thanks Chloe and Steffi, I am feeling so much better today and the peeing is also so much better and by the end of the day feels almost easy to do.
Went for a little walk today so that was nice. The aesthetic results look so good even now and I'm so pleased and I am feeling arousal sensations even now. Even a day after my op I could feel my catheter problems and the specialist nurse was surprised that I could feel something. So I guess things will be OK in that department too, lol.
So the next question is, "Did any of you post op girls feel arousal while dilating?" So much so that it started you saying, "woooooooooo, lol." I am intrigued because I had understood that it could be 12/18 weeks to feel anything. Even my clitoris feels involved but I have not touched that yet, OMG, no yet, heal first, lol.

Hi, I'd already spoke about my surgeon further back in this thread but it was Mr Philip Thomas in Brighton, Nuffield Hospital, UK. Great staff too.
I hope not Jessica.

Well I started feeling arousal pretty instantly and it was less than two weeks before I had a minor "O" so i too have always been puzzled by the 12/18 weeks thing.
The sensations do "refine" and get better - but for me at least they were always there. So no you aren't alone. :)

LoL, or I could get arrested for indecent exposure, hehe. Lets hope that never happens. My bikini top did explode once last year and that was a little embarrassing and got a few giggles from some kids as I scrambled to clip it together again. I can laugh at it now but I was really embarrassed at the time.
