Well, it depends on what you get done. You really should call or, if you can, go for a consult. I had everything except a scalp advance done. I basically did a face-to-face consult in San Francisco and said "just tell me your honest thoughts on what you think I need to have done to be passable" and he told me I could use everything but that I didn't need a scalp advance. So that's what I did. It was like $29,000 for the medical procedures and then like $4,000 - $5,000 for the hospital stay, anesthesia, etc. Then I think I set a new record for my stay at Cocoon House. I was there in the basement private suite for 20 days, lol. It came out to exactly $39,000 for me. I would go to him a million times over and I have no doubts whatsoever that I chose the right surgeon :) Meghan

That makes me feel so much better because i am having FFS with Dr.O in a couple months. Ironicaly I am staying only a week in the cocoon house despite having the works.

Quote from: cassie09 on July 18, 2010, 02:29:23 PMThat's too bad, you will just have enough time to go through the worst pain, until the plastic splinters are removed from your nose, basically. It's one week without being able to breath through your nose and it's really the worst part.

A few more days in the cocoon house would probably give you more occasions to build pleasant memories...

As of 2008, I think "the works"would run around 45k...with the recession though, plastic surgery prices have leveled off on average. But in Doug's case, he is semi-retired anyway so i am sure he has all the work he wants.
I just consider it an investment, earnings power is pretty bad for women who are perceived as trans.

Quote from: laurita22 on July 25, 2010, 12:58:14 PMThe forehead only is 8500 USD, to which you have to add anesthesia, operating room and nursing care costs. You might end up with more than 15000 USD in total, so that makes little sense to have that single procedure only, whereas you can combine it with scalp advancement / brow lift at a minimum (using the same incision), and probably rhinoplasty as well (don't forget the connection between forehead and nose).
How much will cost the reconstruction of the forehead with the DR, O?
Just contact the Dr Ousterhout's office for more detailed information, there are always differences between patients.

I have gotten a quote from Dr. O at one stage, and he suggested i have everything done as well, the quote was 40 k.
It almost seems like he is willing to proceed with FFS on patients only if they are going to have 'the lot' done.
