Hey everyone -
I had double incision with Dr. Fischer on July 28th. Everything is healing really well except I'm a bit concerned about my right nipple. Dr. Fischer not only put tape around the nipples but something else on top of them. The stuff fell off of my left nipple but my right one was bleeding a bit and I'm concerned since the other one seems to be peeling a bit around the sides but is stuck on my actual nipple. I know I shouldn't remove it as I could damage my nipple. Is this something I should be concerned about? I'm assuming it's just the scab that is bleeding? Do nipples take different amounts of time to heal and for the tape to fall off?
Thanks!

Phone him.
That's his job.
Then get back and tell us what he says.

I had DI with Dr. Fischer 6 weeks ago. The stuff other than the tape on top that you refer to, is it the yellow gause? If it is, it is probably just stuck on with some dried blood and should probably fall off on its own after a bath or three. Yes, the tape does take different times fall off from each side, and the nipples do heal at different rates, at least from my experience. Both nipples were scabby for a few weeks, but my right one healed faster than my left and both had different healing patterns. Best of luck with your healing.

Yeah I actually called her office today and they told me it was the yellow gauze. The one nurse said as long as I get the one that is still suck on wet and soapy I can pull it off. I looked at it and realized that the actual nipple tape is attached to the gauze. I guess I should just wait and it will all fall off eventually? I know I can't take the actual nipple tape off until it falls off.

If that is the case, then maybe just trim the yellow gauze down to near the tape.
