The thing is we are not all the same and even if we are, we still have a right to privacy. With my obvious dis-like  (maybe that is too nice of a word) for the body scanners, I get people who write me in support and calling me  fool. Recently I had a woman write me who is  a pre-operative transsexual, meaning she self-defines as a woman, but still has male genitalia. It is absolutely her right to keep her situation private and no one should have the ability to invade her privacy. Talking about privacy, I will call her "Jane" to keep her anonymous for this blog.

People can look at me naked if they want to, I am good to look at  ;)

I don't see this as a big deal, but I accept some people would find this an invasion.

I'm not trying to criticize or otherwise judge your opinions, they are entirely your right, I'm just curious.  My understanding of body scanners at airports is that the scan is read at a completely different room away from the people who guide passengers through the scanners, do not show any of the genitalia (in fact from what I could tell at most showed a vague outline of underwear) and never shows the persons face and if nothing that looks like a weapon is found the picture immediately erased from the computer where is it viewed.  Also, anyone can refuse the body scanning process to be and instead get the "traditional" pat down and metal scan instead.  It has been some time since I was reading up and watching news segments on this, has the information I know changed?

Personally, I tuck well so I could careless.  Let them do want they need to.  But if they are guiding only women to the machines that is an invasion of privacy

Why would they only be guiding women to the machine? Controversial as these machines may be, they're for detecting weapons and most terrorists are men/male-bodied.

If they are, and for the reason you suggested, it constitutes an "Unreasonable (ie; no reason for it) search and is against the general concept of US law.   They should NOT be sending ONLY women to such a scanning device.  The suspicion is that male scanner monitors are getting a fringe benefit to their job that is neither moral or part of their union contract. (Getting their erotic jollies).

Being safe on a plane is more important than somebody's discomfort in being scanned. Transsexuals are not exempt from random scans out of fear that the person scanning (who has seen it all) will judge them. It is not an invasion of privacy. Everybody who choses to fly gives up some of their privacy as part of the agreement to fly safely much like medical professionals may know your conditions, but they are not allowed to share that information with just anybody or they can get sued in violation of HIPPA.

It appears the TSA is not telling the whole truth that images can be keeped & sent else where , & an other details is how much xray are you being put through .
Have a look  at your,   cnn , body scanners . & could lead to abuse by the operaters .

Where are people getting this "women only" idea from? If they were, I would be disgusted with such actions, but I haven't seen any mention of this.
