Title: Do you think I have changed?
Post by: tonia on August 20, 2010, 04:37:28 AM
Hello,
I post an album of my progress. Do you think I have changed or it's just the hair growth and the eyebrow change? The first two photos are before hrt. I'm one year on anti-androgens and (only) two months on estrogen.

I have kept an photolog of identical pose pictures (very clinical, hairback under a cap & expressionless). Duplicating one of your preHRT shots will give you the most fare comparison. These two give a pretty good idea:

Agree. You're even one of the few MTFs who look younger on hrt than before. Awesome.

I can tell you that without having read the remark "The first two photos are before hrt". I went and looked at the pictures, and I can tell you that I'm no good at pointing out specifically what's different, but I can absolutely tell you that my mind interprets the first 2 as male, and all of the rest as decidedly female. A couple look a little androgynous, but androgynously female, not androgynously male, most just look completely female.

That's my honest opinion.  ;D

I like the third photo the best, it makes you look like a dyke!
That's a compliment. Sorry if that wasn't your goal.

What about the rest photos, do I look like a dyke  :icon_cry:? Of course my goal is not to look like a lesbian anyway...

I see a lot of changes, and they are all for the good.

And how does one look like a lesbian?

Generally by looking like a girl who looks like a guy.

Conversely gay men often appear gay based on the way they speak and look too.

I'm not saying this is a 100% rule that applies in all or even the majority of cases. Of course anyone can look like anyone and be gay, or look gay and be straight, but I think it's hard to honestly say these stereotypes don't have an element of truth in them.

You look great honey!, you have changed. There is just more of a fem roundness in your face now. I would never have picked your origins, and I have an eye for such things (professional interest lol)

Don't you worry about looking like a lesbian! Jeez. you don't look like a lesbian (though that is not a bad thing in my books even if you did)

I see some definite changes. HRT has done a great job rounding out your face and giving you a softer look.

BTW, I really like pic 10, very sultry. ;) 8)

I'm sorry if I offended you, Mantonis.
I did mean what I said, even if it was a bit flippant.

No, I don't think lesbians are women who look like guys.
I do think that there are some subtle visual clues being projected though.
I think that maybe it is a certain sort of confidence and lack of vulnerability.

I do think you look feminine in some of the photos (including #3).

The hair and the eyebrows help, but your face is feminizing. Your chin looks a little less defined and your cheeks are fuller. It also looks like your skin is softening. Nice!

I'll second every word of this.
What about some fem jewellery?  maybe pierced ears and dangly earrings that shout female?

Thank you all. You've made me very happy  :). I look myself in the mirror all the time since I started hormones and I thought that it was just a placebo effect that I have changed.  Although my doc which I see him every three months says he can clearly sees changes cause it sees me less often than others but I still was not convinced. I just thought it was the eyebrows and hair and nothing else and that it was too early to see any difference....

Your skin is lighter / less pourous looking and your cheeks are a bit puffier. Skin tone does alot for feminizing features, and from what i've seen with other MTFs, is usually a change that takes place within the first 4 months of HRT. What's amazing is how quickly the fat in your face is shifting. I've outlined where it appears the fat is in your face in the photos taken. Maybe the OP can confirm whether I'm right?

From what I see, the fat moved from surrounding the mouth, to areas which curve your face. Smiling kind of makes it happen more, so IDK if this image can be pointed to for showing whether that is why you look more feminine. Either case, my observations of men and women facial features usually relies on the areas outlined above.

You were a handsome looking guy btw! You look good as a female, and for only 2 months, I can only guess you have just scraped the surface of changes to come! Gives me hope, because I have some similar features in my face.

My face condition was the first sign that I notice, even with anti-androgens only. It was oily with big pores and now it's normal to dry and pores has shrink a bit.

You have arresting eyes, girl. That's a gift that has nothing to do with HRT.

It's funny. I've never understood why women wear makeup. Now I can see that a little judicious shading, the right color(s), could emphasize your eyes even more.

I guess I just don't like obvious makeup. Because then you see the makeup and not the woman.

Definitely, you look great.

I like the one with the big smile (on HRT.) You seem to be one of the lucky ones.

Is it normal to have fat shift on face and not yet on the body?
