Title: Hello!

*waves*
I've been lurking for a little while, and people here seem nice, so I just thought I'd say hi! :)
My name is Kayla. I'm in my late twenties, I'm a transsexual woman, and I've been on hormones for about three months. I still look male and mostly wear androgynous clothing, but I'm out to my family and friends and have their support. I'm slowly transitioning my clothing and mannerisms to match the pace of the hormones. Right now, I'm working on my voice.
I'm a gaymer girl, and like both tabletop (or chat-based) role-playing games and video games. I'm also a semi-professional writer, hopefully soon to become totally professional. In addition to being transsexual, I'm also gay, and very interested in LGBTAI rights and advocacy. (The "A" in that is mainly for "asexual," but "allies" are great too!) I have an extensive stuffed animal collection, and most of them sleep with me. If there's any other random bits of trivia about me that you want to know, feel free to ask. :)
I've been on other trans-related forums before, but I'm interested in this site because it's for the entire transgender spectrum, rather than only one specific category. Not that specialization is necessarily bad, but I like diversity and want a better understanding of other transgender people and their experiences.
P.S. I like smiley faces. :) ;D

Hi Kayla, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 3300 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:
And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )
Hugs and Love,
Janet

We believe you will like it here very much. From what you've written above, I think that you're a very interesting person. Just like you, I'm also dressing androgynously at the pace that my hormone replacement therapy is affecting me. Just a personal choice.
Like you, I'm interested in LBGT rights also. We have such a group here called Basic Rights Oregon that is very active, progressive and accepting. I'm thinking of joining it and helping them out, if they'll have me. I've only been in the state here for 4 months, so I'm now settled in enough to get involved.
We think you're going to really like it here, so give it a chance. Our best to you.
