Title: Is there more to what he said

I usually don't take compliments too seriously, but the last one was kind of important to me because it made me felt really good inside. I was walking in front of this guy (it's a busy hallway) and he was chatting with a girl when I passed by him, then in a few minutes he was speaking behind me.
"Had you lost weight, there's something different about you this year. You look good". I just said "Thanks", after saying no I haven't lost weight.
At first I thought it was just nothing at all, but then most guys don't comment on guy's bodies like that. He's kind of a friend, but not really, just friendly. Should I just take it as a friendly comment, or more, but I am for sure it's not sexual connotation. I never had a person I knew compliment me on my looks directly.
(just in case you don't know where I stand, I'm on spiro 4 month now)

It's certainly possible that he had some hidden meaning. I believe that anything is possible.
However, sometimes a compliment is just a compliment. Just take it for what it is. Trying to find hidden meanings in things that may have no hidden meanings can cause you to get the wrong idea of what the person has said. I am personally very bad about this, I tend to over analyze too many things, and I draw false conclusions because of it.

This reminds me of something that happened to me about three years ago. I was at work and presenting well more as a guy and another guy said that I was looking attractive today... or something along those lines. It freaked me out.. and had me running it over and over in my head all day. I guess looking back he was just being nice and honest. I know deep down that it's ok for a guy to complement another guy, I know it means nothing but then you have social conventions and expected behaviour that would suggest one to read too much in to it.. I kinda got sucked into that before I snapped out of it and dismissed it. I mean he could of been bi and testing my reaction or he could of noticed I was looking less male than other guys (This was just months before I started transition) *shrugs*. But I think I'd rather give him the benefit of the doubt! ^_____^
