Dr. Milton Diamond (b. 1934), retired professor of anatomy and reproductive biology at the University of Hawai'i, has presented evidence arguing for the hardwired brain as the seat of identity over social conditioning. Diamond exposed Dr. John Money for deception in the case of David Reimer, a boy forcibly raised as a girl after a botched circumcision.
A few years ago, Dr. Diamond solicited comments from several post-operative women with a transsexual history. He wanted to know the age and circumstances of understanding that we had a mismatch between our body sex and brain sex. This is what Kelly M wrote in response.
