Whether you have siblings, children, or work in a place where you are in direct contact with children, do you feel that being trans has had any sort of impact on your life in these areas? Any funny/ awkward stories or stories in general? Possibly some ideas about coming out to the kids in your life? Here's your place to share 'em! =]
I have two younger brothers, one 5 and the other 9. When I started taking T, my dad and stepmom decided to confront the boys with the subject. From what I heard, they sat down with my brothers and explained that I would be taking some medicine that was going to make me happier and that I would be going through some "changes" (they described the most obvious physical things) such as my voice changing and basically that I'd start looking alot more like my dad (which is true). Then my dad said that they weren't going to call me Alexa (my birthname) anymore. My brothers still treat me the same as they always have and even use male pronouns from time to time (we haven't asked them to start doing this on a regular basis yet though.). All in all, they've taken the transition just fine. =]

Well, most of the younger kids in my life already assume I am a boy. I work for the Girl Scouts until my law practice takes off -- and the kids always ask me how does a boy work for the girl scouts.
My son started transitioning earlier this year -- he is already taking T -- and when we talked with my nieces and nephews -- they were like "I told you so" ... it so did not affect them at all. In fact they thought they were smarter than the adults since they already knew. My nieces & nephews range from 6-14

Lol, that's a funny story.
I have my niece and nephews new born to 4. I haven't told them, but im sure they'd understand and get it. The older boy calls me a boy and they try to "correct" him, mehh.

I have 3 younger siblings, and they usually refer to me as a boy already. They say stuff like "Hey, [birth name], if you need to use the bathroom, make sure you use this one (points to men's room) because you're a BOY!" :D They usually do it in a joking manner though, so I'm not sure how it'll go over when I come out to them. Hopefully they'll take it in stride and realize that they've been right all along.
