Title: 3 days on T: My skin is glowing!
Post by: kyril on October 01, 2010, 08:09:20 PM
So, I've had terrible acne all my life. Really really bad. Not like the deep, badly-scarring cystic acne - more like the smaller, milder spots that everyone gets as a teenager, except I had a lot of them. And around the time I'd start bleeding, I'd get even more - I swear I got pimples on top of pimples. It's awful. The side view of my face was always a train wreck.

I've been on T for all of 3 days. Which is supposed to make acne worse. i was all prepared to have to go begging for Accutane. It was the one side effect that I was really worried about.

But surprise! 3 days of a substance that's supposed to make acne worse, and miraculously it's gotten better. A lot better. Like, I might even be willing to take a profile picture kind of better. My skin is practically glowing. The oiliness is mildly reduced, but the dryness I usually get if I strip away the surface oil - that's gone. I could swear even the red discolorations from the pimples that were there earlier this week are fading. The blackheads on my nose are almost entirely gone. The pores have shrunk to near-invisibility. It's magical. And all this is happening while I'm bleeding, of all times.

I don't think I could possibly be happier unless I sprouted a working penis.

This is my main concern when/if I start T too.  Nice to know that not everyone gets acne on T.

Lucky! I'm hoping that T reacts that well to my system if/when I get it.

My sex drive's actually kind of low since the shot. Also, the changes in my junk are making it so that what I normally do doesn't work quite right, so "me time" is kind of a lot of work right now, and I'm just not motivated.

Bainly the changes that I've noticed have been a lifting of depression, anxiety, and brain fog. I'm thinking more clearly, I'm more motivated, working out feels really good, and I'm not afraid of going to class. And my speaking voice is pretty much the same but my singing range has deepened by a note (or rather, the weak note I had at the bottom of my range has gotten stronger and more reliable).

Nothing even mildly bad so far. I don't mind the sex drive change, I could stand to not be obsessing about sex every minute of every day.

Haha lucky you. The first change I got was an oily face, no acne problems yet although that's probably because I'm on medication.

On a similar note to this: In my first puberty I got lots and lots of acne, but I went on Accutane and it all went away.  You think starting T will make it come back?  Or will Accutane prevail?
