Title: Does T make you get morning wood?
Post by: Tyler90210 on October 02, 2010, 01:40:54 PM
Hey so I know that cis-guys get morning wood but is that because of the higher levels of T in the morning?  Or because the morning wood is their because they have to pee and the morning wood stops them from peeing on themselves.

I always thought it was because of the higher T levels in the morning but then I heard about the full bladder thing and now I'm just confused.  ???

I started T 13 days ago and I get 'morning wood' if you could call it that, just horniness in the morning.

it's more to do with REM sleep. It really has nothing to do with peeing on yourself lol Here is more information on the subject:

:eusa_clap:   Yep, that's the answer.  I get horny in the mornings pre-T, I imagine I am going to be a nightmare to deal with on T  XD

From being many years as a male, I can tell you, morning can be fun or miserable depending on your partner and what you make of it. Worst is having to pee real bad but you can't. The upstanding issue had to be alleviated first. I have been known, many times, to take things into my own hands to get the darn thing out of the way. Go with the intensity of your problem, it will guide you (sometimes falsely so deal with that as well :/).

Age and medications (not HRT) have surely already shifted my levels down. No more many-times-daily arousals and morning 'wood' is now morning 'noodle'. I do not miss being governed by an appendage that has no thoughts behind it .. however enjoyable it was at times. I feel so much more normal and myself now. But that wasn't your question.

I'm not sure I helped in any way but you're welcome to ask. PM if it feels to explicit, I'll answer the best that I can.

Honestly, just the fact that I can now actually GET morning wood (11 months on T) is wonderful!  And having to take things "into my own hands" is fine with me.  I'd rather have that "problem" than what I had before, which was nothing.

As for my morning piss, since I haven't had bottom surgery, I don't know if I'd have to worry about it.  I'm still debating on getting a meta with UL.

I don't know if men with a meta or a phallo get them, but if I had to guess, I'd think that men with a meta would still get them.  Men with a phallo...I have no idea since its the levels of T in the morning that causes them and NOT the need to piss as many people wrongly think.

Men who have had either types of bottom surgery, any care to chime in?

Ryuichi13, Interesting never thought about peeing after meta with a morning wood, just one more thing to think about after surgery. I guess we may get more effects from T than I as expecting. How nice it will be know how guys feel with morning wood.

I would say it's "random wood" more than "morning" in my experience. But yes, it does cause this.

I DEFINITELY get "random wood" as well as morning wood!  I'm just glad to hear that morning wood wasn't "all in my head." [emoji4]

I am happy to see you guys enjoying this event. I sometimes get philosophical about all us trans folk, out at sea, sailing toward our own destinations. I left the port of Morning Wood, gladly, and am approaching my port of Sitstopee. You guys are headed toward or have arrived at  your port. We are so similar and yet so different. I am happy for you. I would gratefully give up my memories to you of being called on in school and not being able to stand up without embarrassment. Well, no more for me.
I did hear at one point in my male past that morning wood was caused by the body producing testosterone in the middle of the night. "Thumbs" up to you gentlemen. :)
