Title: Toronto Trach Shave

I'm not sure where the FFS forum went so if a moderator wants to move this, that's fine.
I've been thinking about getting a trach shave done as my first surgery (and maybe only, hurray for being broke). Hopefully along with HRT I will be able to pass without getting too many looks. I mentioned to my therapist about going to Dr. Brassard to have it done but he said there was a few doctors in Toronto that could do it for about $1,000. I googled "trach/laryngeal shave toronto" and the only result I got was Middleton Cosmetic, who do it for $3,500.
Is there any other doctors in Toronto that do trach shaves? I don't mind paying that price as long as it is done well, but if I can save a bit of money that would be fantastic.
Thanks,
Hannah

I'll be interested in this, too - thanks for posting it, Hannah! Not quite SURE if I'll need one, but I do believe in knowing what one is up against. Always good to know your options...

A lot of the price is getting you on the operating room table.
As such, it is cheaper paired with another surgery.
In one sense it's not that tricky a surgery.
On the other hand you want somebody who is skilled in making incisions that are later invisible.
