Title: HRT & weight gain
Post by: juliekins on October 07, 2010, 04:55:15 PM
I'm just curious how HRT has affected each of us. For me, I lost some weight. It may have been the hormones, or changed eating habits or a lessened appetite.

So where do you fall on the scale?

When I began HRT, I lost weight which I was very happy about.  But after the Orchidectomy, I gained 30 plus lbs.

I don't eat often because I regulate my intake of calories.  I have to get back down to my 127 lbs again.

I gained about 15 pounds in the year after starting HRT (from 145 to 160), but I kind of did it on purpose.  I don't think it was the HRT as much as I just let myself gain it.  I thought perhaps the added weight would help round me a bit.  Now I've started paring it back off because I am never going to be a round woman - too many years of testosterone-poisoning. >:(

Actually I lost about 30 pounds initially from 180 down to 150 but lately have fluxuated between 155 & 160 depending upon my diet. I cut my total intake volume-ie. very little for breakfast, small lunch with water, and smaller portions for supper. I QUICKLY gain it back if I eat sweets (ice cream is the worst, and cakes) but if I control it well I can loose a pound every day if I want to. At least now when I gain it back it goes to the right places!!! ;D

I gained a little weight, but it may be also attributed to my desire to cook and try making new dishes I have not made before.   I'm also a chocolate lover which doesn't help any :)
