Title: Doctor switched me to injectables today, and question about orchie...

So I went and saw my doctor and she switched me to injectables today. She also said that she knows a doctor who will perform an orchie and can charge it to insurance... Really considering this but wondering the pro's and con's for getting an orchie now vs not doing one.
I plan to get full srs in a year but she said he'd do it soon and could charge my insurance.

Yay for injectables.
Just make sure on the orchi, that your insurance will cover it. No matter if the doctor will use insurance or not if your insurance doesn't cover it, the point is moot. Then again You can get one for around $1800 which really isnt bad either.
Also you want to make sure they do the orchi a certain way such that the SRS surgeon later down the line will be able to do their work.

Depending on how they code it it can be covered. If you are getting your SRS with in the year, I would get the Orchie now. Saves on the Spiro and tucking is way easier.
There are two ways to do any Orchie. One is from the abdomen and the other if with a small incision on the scrotum. That was how my surgeon did it and he does SRS also.
Congrats on the Injectables.

The insurance company is giving me 4.9k for my car, figure i will buy one for like 1k that's just a work car and put the rest towards a new wardrobe and voice lesson, the rest will go into savings.

This is why I've decided to wait for the whole enchilada so to speak. ;) Some docs say it doesn't matter, others advise against it if you want SRS down the road.

do not do an orchi via the abdomen - you will get awful scars - and dragging a nearly full size testicle up through a small hole will not be good - the surgeon for my srs says he does orchies via a small slit down centreline of scrotum where he later slits it open for srs.
I had to have two separate operations to get rid of both mine because of idiot shrink at gender clinic and one day soon my lawyer will be taking him to task over my human rights.

Why did they want you to do it in two operations?

I always had an undesecended testicle and was getting pains from other so I had xrays and they saw a shadow round the undescended that looked like cancer but I had been complaining about being legally a woman but still having other testicle and asked surgeon to take both but he called idiot shrink at genderclinic who told him not to take both so surgeon did the undescended that turned out to be OK - shadow? - dunno? So I complained and eventually got them to take other out. so now I have two nice scars down my groin half covered by the hair that has shrunken down to a female size patch.
My lawyers will start the court case before long.

I'd like a source for all the docs who'll do an elective orchie in the U.S. (heck, insurance info if you know it, not like i have insurance but you never know)
I'd like to narrow down what my closest option is - under $2K is actually an amount I can anticipate having somewhere down the line.

any doctor with a clinic facility can do it but for various religious and ethical reasons you may have to search to find one who actually will do it.
we keep hearing of orchie clinics in cellars and garages though.
