Susan's Place Transgender Resources

Susan has spent a great deal of the night working on the forums for us.  And I'd like to announce one of the new features she has brought on board.  We now have a gallery in which to share photos.  Click on the "Gallery" button of your forums menu bar to access it.

The Gallery is for us to share photos of ourselves, interesting photos we've taken, and other subject matter yet to be determined.  If you'd like to see a category which may interest the group here at Susan's please let us know.

To post a photo to the gallery, we are requiring that you have made at least 15 posts in the forums.  If you have fewer than 100 posts, a moderator will need to approve your picture.  We're doing our best to hold this forum to higher standards than the rest of the internet.  So, if you think that a picture may be objectionable, it very well may be.  We do not want to publish pornography. Neither do we wish to break copyright laws.

If you see a photo that you feel does not belong, please contact one of the staff members so that we may review it.

Now, let's see some pictures!

Everyone can view, Members with 15 posts can comment on pictures and add their own with moderator approval, photos from members with 100 posts or more are auto approved.

You can put up as many as you wish. You also have a personal gallery which you can add categories to.  the option is at the top right of the main gallery page.

O.k, I'm retarded. I dont see where to upload a pic. I have some pictures I took recently with my new camera I'd like to upload and have no clue how to upload them to the gallery section. Please help.

Click MyImages and then "Add a Picture".

O.k. thanx, between you and susan I managed to get some uploaded but I had to resize most of them..I have no clue what I am doing lol. I put some under "interesting things". Mostly bugs  :P

   I checked out the gallery earlier today and I thought it is a wonderful idea. It sort of adds another dimension to the site. Could it be that soon we'll be live & 3D?
   Honestly, I could immediately feel the difference.

   I agree with making it members only, at least for now, because it would allow us to post pictures of ourselves trying out different looks and styles while knowing we're in a friendly environment. And I really really like the dedication in trying to keep this site higher in standards than the rest of the internet.

I decided to allow any registered member to post pictures and comments without approval.

Susan, is there a setting to make it so images over a certain size are resized on upload?  Some of those images are HUGE and take forever to load as well as a lot of server space.  I know that's a common feature as I have run my own gallery website and programmed this feature into another.

I think that the photo gallery was a good idea, and thank you to all who made it happen.  I even posted a few pictures myself (well, a photo and a drawing, actually).

How is it that some photos seem to automatically create a thread about themselves when posted?

If you post in your member gallery no picture posted thread should be created. If you post in the site Categories then a thread is created. You are welcome to post anything that you want to share with the other users of this site. I have asked for a feature which would allow galleries and pictures to be designated buddy's only. It will be out in the next version sometime down the road.

Susan I really like the photo gallery but is there a way to not have them show up in the  unread posting since last visitlinks. Say maybe have Show new photos since last visit link instead.
Because of the photo the unread list gets real long and when I only have a small amount of time I'd rather not wade thru all of them to find postings.

You can add the image forum to your ignore boards list in your profile.

^*giggle* I was just going to say that.
When looking at your profile:

One the left you should see a "Ignore Boards Preferences" link, select that.

On that page you wish to place a check mark by the "Images" item.

Then you press the "Change profile" button and that is all there is to that.

If you ever wish to unignore a board, simply uncheck the option.

Hey there Stormy.

Just go to your profile and look on the left side of the window and under "Modify Profile" you should see a heading called "Ignor Boards Preferences".  Select this and you will be able to select the board(s) you wish to ignore.

Thanks Susan. But if I say if I ignore a board it will be inaccessible to me. I still want to be able to enjoy the images. So I don't think that will work.
I just would rather it not clog my unread postings link.

Just click the gallery link at the top of the forums. The images are all in there as well as in the images forum.

I have removed the images forum too many posts with broken images. So check the Gallery from time to time for new images :)
