Title: Mother Dearest
Post by: Raven on November 10, 2010, 05:56:25 PM
As much as I respect and love my mom, her saying transsexuals should be happy with the bodies they have annoys me to no end. Out of the blue today she juuuust had to say that and what happend, I finally snapped. I raised my voice untentially telling her "no they can't be happy with the bodies they have" and I went on to explain to her yet again the reason why. This went on for at least five minutes, and ended with her leaving the room in a huff. I am so sick of hearing that out of her, and I know she can't understand any of this, so I don't bring it up unless she does because I just can't ignore it. She knows I have some trans friends and she knows I'm a member on here, she doesn't know why. Idk, but I am so sick of her talking like that and I feel so helpless because she can't understand. I know there is no point in trying to talk to her because it wont do no good. But I would love for her to able not to be so discriminateing towards trans, gays, cross dressers, basically everything out there...

When I told my mom that I was transgendered, the first words out of her mouth were, "You better not get AIDS!"

Yay for ignorance! I still love her, though.

Ask your mother this:

"If your feet and hands were cut off, then your feet were grafted to your wrists and your hands grafted to your ankles, would you be happy? Would you learn to be happy with your appendages in the wrong places, or would you try to get them fixed?"
