Trying to remove hair (not facial :embarrassed:) however I am confused whether to go for a an Epilator or an Electric Shaver .. I am considering the ones from Philips (India) as they are easily available here and have a good reputation here...
which one would you recommend?

...and the good old waxing? That's the thing I prefer, bit messy but works like a charm.
Now, between an epilator and a shaver, I'd go for the epilator. Over time it makes the hair thinner and your skin feel softer. Contrary to shaving which thickens the hair and provides you with a nice set of stubbles after a couple of hours.

Waxing not really an option as I can't use/buy/hide the kit without my parents noticing ... and its kinda difficult to get the stuff..

With waxing its not about "use/buy/hide." It's pretty difficult to do it by yourself unless you have a clone like I do. :D
I think there are several salons in your region that would work on men (in your case I only mean a little physically male) as well. Why not try that? I recommend sugar waxing as opposed to the normal one. Easier on the skin and much less painful. If you must use epilators then philips satinelle is pretty good I hear. Epilators can sometimes be more painful or rather be a tool of "prolonged pain"compared to waxing. You'll get used to the pain, try some numbing creams. ^_^

Actually I use a Braun 7500. It is a bit spendy but worth it. Use some 'Shave Magic" or "Williams Electrc-shave" and you are good to go.
I do touch up some times with a regular triple bladed razor, if I am going to be out for a long time.
