Many do have their own channels, some even from here. If you don't mind the non-stealth and outing yourself to the world, they are good. You can get a lot of good information from YouTube.
And there is always a need to inform those behind you.

I was thinking after my surgery of putting a journal of sorts together for other MTF TS. The good I could provide would be dealing with transitioning while being in school, what I did and so forth. Now the bad I noticed my friends who have posted ended up getting a slew of admirers ??? Is you-tube basically just pointless? What are your opinions?
A slew of admirers?
Unless this is irony, why is that a problem?
As Janet says, if you don't want to be stealth, then it seems to be a wonderful idea.

Given the fact that I've been on the Internet for so long and have posted YouTube vids of me at my parties since the days I was part-time, I can never be in stealth. However, that being said, YouTube is probably a great place for promoting something... an event, a product, or an idea. You will get honest feedback, some decent and some from Deliverance yahoos. Thankfully we get to delete the bad stuff.

It's up to you Sada. But if you have a go at dealing with these types, you might be surprised that some turn out to be really nice guys.

YouTube is more than not being stealth, it is being out in public.
If that is something you can do, then have fun. If not, then don't try.
Watching YouTube videos has helped me a lot, still do.
I can't make videos now, but I would like to think that I will be able to do it some time in the future.

Honestly... Youtube videos have added a lot of confidence to me. But, one needs to be comfortable before posting them.

My being out on YouTube has brought me a lot of benefit, and some painful real world loss.
Only do it if you're prepared for everyone who will ever know you to know about you, because once it's out there, it's out there forever in various ways.

I love following other TG's transition on YouTube it has given me a lot of confidence and hope. I think its a great resource for that, if it had been out when I was young I am sure I would have started transition much sooner.
If you are comfortable with it and think you can help others then go for it.

Yes, You Tube is a great resource of information. Many wonderful people from here too. Jerica comes to mind, she does it very well. I wish I could find the courage to do something similar on You Tube.

I think youtube is really good. You just have to use it appropriately, and everyone's definition of appropriate is quite different. Sada, if you fell comfortable, and only if you feel comfortable with it, it might be a favour to either tell your viewers that you had FFS, or even show a before picture or two. Well, that is if you start your channel after your FFS.
I've been thinking that I would like to start a youtube channel once I'm out to everyone. It's not only that, but I want to show off my imperfections, as well as good side. One of the many things I want to do is not wear any make up, just so that I can stop any pre- everything girls from becoming intensely discouraged. Also, I want to be extremely candid to the best of my ability without totally compromising my identity (name, address, etc.) It definitely takes courage, but at least on the internet, there's a sense of anonymity, even though there is truly none. That on its own lessens the anxiety, and I'm in the process of getting a clip-on microphone for consistent audio quality when I begin.

If you're comfortable with it, go for it. The more that is out there for people to draw on for information and support and showing the reality of what trans people go through the better. Not just for other people transitioning or trying to figure themselves out, but for their family/friends/support group.... or for anyone who wants to educate themslves, to try understand.
Just be sure first because you'll basically be out forever once it's up and online.

My experience with youtube has been really really good. Mind you , it's only been a year now.
I began putting videos on youtube as more of a video diary. I never realized that it could actually help others by being so relatable. Which is just a secondary awesome thing.
Unwanted admirers: I mostly ignore them....Frankly I don't respond to a lot of comments at all....but messages I tend to respond to, for the most part.
Rudeness: I have only had to delete/block 2 people total in the last year for rude/out of line comments.
