On the surface, the story of Katie Goldman, the adopted daughter of Chicago Now blogger Carrie Goldman, is not really about being lesbian or being transsexual. It is, however, about gender stereotypes and gender trait identification. Katie Goldman loves Star Wars. She has a Star Wars backpack, a Star Wars water bottle, and quite a lot of other Star Wars stuff, and that is the problem for the bullies around her. According to them "Star Wars is for boys."
HUH?!
Star Wars is for boys? Would someone please run that by me again?
