This is sort of a PSA  :P

I bet a lot of people here feel the pain and annoyance of menstruation. Basically, if you have to deal with it then you're subjected to terrible smells and messy leaks if you use pads or tampons. That's why I use a menstrual cup. It's super environmentally friendly, re-usable, long-lasting, cost effective, and most importantly: it allows you to almost forget you're menstruating. You don't have to change it too often, it prevents leaks and funky smells, and even sometimes makes cramps less painful.

I use tampons so much better than pads can almost forget I have it, just change morning and night maybe once during the day.  The cup seems like too much handlnig of your parts getting it in and out, then getting the contents on your fingers too.

On the upside, it can be left alone for up to 12 hours safely, so that's more time to go between having to deal with it at all, and with practice it doesn't need to be messy.  To each his own, eh?

I dunno, I don't like this idea much. Maybe it's just my dysphoria, but I'm not about to stick anything up there. I much prefer pads. I know all guys are different though...So this could be good for someone who doesn't mind insertion and doesn't want any hassle.

I don't mind tampons.  It feels like the hole's been plugged up.  As for the cup, I'd like to have as little interaction with what comes out as possible, so it'd probably not be great for me.  I also have the stupidest apartment setup ever, and we have all five sinks in/right off of the main room.  Something tells me my roommates wouldn't appreciate watching me wash it.

I don't know about you guys but this Menstrual Cup is a bad idea. I would not buy this product at all. I am sticking with Pads and tampons.

here they have a bunch of free ones in the womens centre on campus. I'm tempted to take one when no one is looking (since the gay group also hangs out in thre I'm often in there to begin with).. however.. I donno how I feel about having menstrula cluids in a cup

From a practical standpoint, it seems like a good idea.  However, I don't want anything inside of me.  Not tampons, not this.  I'll stick to external measures to control . .  whatever.  But thanks for the recommendation anyway.

For those who can, I guess its less of a hassle.

nice to see people who take it from my view point, I used to get weird looks all over the place when I said I don't do tampons. Noting gets in that hole, ever . *shudder*

I'll just stick to giant pads, with wings. And staying home during those days. (except for work, bah)

i can see how many people wouldn't want anything, uhm, insertive, but for me it's just easier to think about it maybe every couple hours then to be reminded all day... the cup-thingies though don't seem to be familiar round here, but i would certainly try them if i stumbled over them.

I used to use the cup preT... it was Awesome!

My wife used to use one - also called a moon cup. She said it was great, saved her heaps of money and was really convenient.

But then I understand the whole hesitation about sticking things up you, but if you are ok with that then they sounds like a good idea.

Not for the totally squeemish though, she used to steralise is after by boiling it in a pot on the stove and leave it there to cool  :)
