Im so glad I never took my grandparrents offer to move to Ohio and live with them..... Transitioning in that state seems far worse and far more hipocritical than Texas....
Dosnt matter anyhow, they would have kicked me out after "finding out" so.....

QuoteThe addition of the sexuality question dates back to 1987 when a judge ruled a woman and her fiance could not be granted a marriage license because the finace had been born female but had female to male sex reassignment surgery.
The ruling held that chromosomes, not genitals, determine sex. Following the decision the county decided to ask the question in the oath.
The chromosome thing again. So what if someone is 45XO? Or perhaps XX male or XY female?

Well, now I know where I will NOT be going to get married.
What? I cannot believe this. What a primitive law! >:(
What is a heterosexual TS woman from Ohio supposed to do? :-\

Quote from: articleUnder Ohio law a person's birth gender is the only one considered legal. It does not bar transsexuals from marrying but means that a male to female transsexual can only marry a woman.

Whether its the chromosome rule or the birth genitals rule, it's just used to enforce 'You are forever the sex GOD(we) determined you to be on the day you were born' rule.

I was unfortunate enough to be born in Ohio.
This means they will not change my birth certificate even after surgery. They will change the name, but not the gender.

Hey folks... we are overlooking a blessing here. If you are a post op and gay, you'll be able to get a legal marraige in Ohio!
I can't wait until somone tries it! Oh yea. They don't know what a can of worms that they have opened. Won't that make a fine headline? "Ohio promotes gay marriage". Yea kittens, this is a wonderful deal.
Who was it that wanted to get a legal marraige a while back to their female companion? Anyone want to be famous?

Well, Tink, that's the problem with you and me. We both have guys. But if some MTF wanted to marry another woman, this would be a great opportunity.

This'd be a great opportunity for some political theater. All we need is a few of the couples where one or both members are trans to go to Ohio to try to get married. Of course, we send the media along openly to document the 'cultural learnings' of the bureaucrats caught by the rules.
I can't wait to see what shows up on YouTube ;D
