Very interesting. I was in an abusive relationship, in a physical sense. At the last I was fearful of my life.

I've been in several mentally abusive relationships.

The only relationship with an abusive woman was pretty bad sometimes. Mental, until I just ignored her or walked away. Then the physical ->-bleeped-<- started. Throwing things. Then bigger things.
I just didn't want a fight, so I put up with it.
Then the day came that I was eating a steak, and she came up behind me and machine gunned her fists into the back of my head. Then went over and sat by the wall at the end of the room looking like 'What ya gonna do about it?'. So I had a couple more peices of steak, though about how much I had grown to hate her and whipped that steak knife into the wall about a foot from her head.
Of course the tirade about 'don't you ever do that again' started, and when she finished, I calmly told her I wasn't planning on doing it again, it was just that I missed.
The next day, I took out all the money in our accounts, packed and left on my bike for Coloado.
Never got into an abusive relationship again. Ever.
