Hi ladies.  After years of soul searching and therapy, I am soon to begin low dose HRT.  One question my doctor can't answer is what to expect regarding nipple development.  The boards here, too, focus much on breast growth, but little on nipples.  I guess a major part of my GID is "nipple dysphoria" and I am hoping for significant development.  I'd be interested in your own experiences, i.e. when development began, the changes you experienced (size, coloration, engorgement), and any other experience you can share.  Thanks!

I can't say a lot has happened to my nipples in 15 months of HRT... They suddenly became very erect and started weeping slightly after about a month, they continue to be erect either in growth phases or in the cold. The areola also enlarged and darkened slightly. I haven't noticed much else i'm afraid.

I've had good nipple development. I started out with tiny inverted nipples, and after 10 months of HRT they are about 4 times bigger. I have raised Aureole too which is expected in early breast development. Oh the aureole have gotten bigger too. Pretty much within the range of women.

Can't remember when it  changed. I think after about a month my nipples stopped being inverted and where kind of pointy all the time. I seem to have growth spurts.

I am really happy with the results so far.

Too hard to predict with any certainty. The best guess would be to look around at other female members of your immediate family (mother, sister, grandmother etc.). Genetics is the main determining factor here, and we all have different genes.

I am 50 and have been on a full transition level testosterone blocker/ hormone regimen for just about a year. The nipple & areola changes began after 17 days and developed extremely quickly. Virtually overnight, my nipples increased in size from ~3mm diameter to ~5mm, remaining in a constant state of erection with a slight upturn. Four months into HRT, the nipples had increased to a diameter of 8mm (5mm over the 3mm baseline scaled from pictures) and the areolas to 22mm (5mm over the 17mm baseline scaled from pictures). There have been no further changes in the last 7 months.

Genetics, and also how old you are.  I started HRT about age 50. 5 years ago. Mine have grown some and look like some I see on the net. I have never seen my mothers, and I had 4 brothers...so don't know about my genetics!  My Aureole when it is warm and they are relaxed are about the size of a half dollar coin. I am happy about that. My nipples did not develop right, I think because I am older. One is bigger than the other. I can pinch my nipples and can feel a thicker core under them that I wonder if I had started HRT when I was 14 they would of developed right to big thick nipples.  I so wish I would of started young like I see so many of you girls doing on the forum!  Back when I was in my 20s I stole a months worth of my wifes birth control pills and took them. I wish I could of started HRT then and developed some hips too. My hips are very male appearing and will never be female appearing.

When I started HRT I hoped to develop breasts and I did develop breasts... But I didn't really want my nipples/areolas to get larger but they did... About twice as large

I'm not complaining though because they actually look well proportioned  :)

I have noticed something that might be strange.  Now that I am growing again, I have noticed that my nipples are getting bigger.  Yay.  But what is the strange part is the the outer area is larger than the inner area.  it is almost like they are getting larger like a natal woman's.

Yeah, I was mainly referring to the areola, that outer ring around the nipple

I'm not sure about that, Amelia.  I've been told it's not so much age, it's genetics and overall health.  I'd like Dee_pntx to weigh in here, I'd like to know what age she started HRT.  I don't think it was in her teens, lol.  I've seen her boobs, and her nipples are great.  I think she could give the lie to the age thing...

I always had nipples that became erect when excited or got cold.  Very sensitive to stimulation.  On HRT (started at 50, 7 years) they have grown tremendously, get very erect, like hard, half domes upon stimulation. My wife gets far more enjoyment from playing with them then any of my male parts.  Sometimes she does it just for fun, sometimes when she wants me to do something or to say yes to something.

Amen to that. I still take advantage of occasionally walking around bare chested in guy mode and the last thing I want is for people to think my tiny hoohas are anything other than a good set of pecs.

It is so funny how everyone wants something a little different.  Myself, I'd give my left nut (literally! lol) for huge, woman-size nipples and I'd proudly show them off!  Let people think what they want, I say. 

Mine are definitely bigger and thicker after 1 yr on HRT and boy are they sensitive!

Genetics and age do seem to play a role with how much development you will see. For me, they became raised and hard after about 3 weeks. In two months, I had noticable raised and darkended areola noticable. You could also see the ducts around the nipples begin t develop. After about a 12 months, my nipples were about 1/4 inches long when stimulated and the  areola are became more puffy or pointed. It was somewhat larger but only slightly.
