Title: Uno scherzo di Natale

Dental feminisation/masculinisation, has anyone else heard of this or undergone this procedure? Researchers in Albania and the Peoples' Republic of China have discovered that your teeth will give away your gender! Professor Hu Hee of Shiaxion university writes ' Many transsexual persons who have undergone SRS or other gender reassignment procedures do not realise that their teeth will reveal their biological sex to dentists and other health professionals, and this could lead to embarrassing situations.' Professor Hu Hee continues ' genetic women have smaller, gentler, curvier teeth, while genetic males have strong, macho, ambitious teeth.'
In light of this revelation American dentists have begun to offer Dental Feminisation/Masculinisation Treatments. Prices start at $15,000 to transform your lower set of teeth, or $25,000 for the full set. Despite the costs the American Dental Association (ADA) reports that its members have been inundated by members of the American transsexual community who are urgently seeking to undergo dental SRS.
Does your appearance say 'woman' but your teeth say 'man'? Then contact your dentist today!

I can't see how this procedure would be worth anywhere near that much money. *Maybe* if you have really (really really really) bad teeth and lots of money to throw around. I mean, for a little bit more money there's FFS, and with FFS just about everyone will actually notice a change.
I don't even know what that means. I sure don't think my teeth are very ambitious or macho. :P

"Uno scherzo di Natale"... Italian for "Christmas joke".
I knew it was bull as soon as I read "Researchers in Albania." Right. Lol...

Even if it was serious, I bet it would be a sexually dimorphic feature. Like how men tend to be taller than women but there are still lots of exceptions, there would be a lot of women who have "masculine" teeth and vice versa.

Also dental presentation has a direct correlation to jaw line, which can be shaved but not re-set.
And there was no real before/after picture showing dental presentation.
It was cute though.

Ditto. I'm so embarrassed. ::)
The funny thing, I thought it was a joke until I googled it and apparently some places like Agave clinic *do* offer it. So I tried to respond somewhat seriously. Next time I'll look up the title if it's in a foreign language!

That's probably the funniest part of it.
I know I have a really bad habit, when reading something and comming across a bit I don't understand, not bothering to check it up.
When I first saw the opening post, last night, I was all ready to start another of my rants about how people are being conned by so called medical professionals who will cash in on anything. I didn't because I was tired.
Now I can't stop laughing, mainly at myself.

Actually there is one think that would help Transwomen blend better, and that is to whiten your teeth.

This kind of smelled like a lie, but I was more "oh my, this is ridiculous" than "oh my, this is a bad joke" until I read what the title meant. I'm a naïve girl, all right !

No problem :-)
There is a very small difference between male and female teeth in general, but it's so small (fraction of a MM in size) that even a dentist probably wouldn't even notice. I asked my dentist once too, he said there's not really much difference.
