Title: Sleepovers?
Post by: Cody Jensen on December 25, 2010, 09:02:18 PM
It's not weird if a guy has sleepovers is it? I don't know, it just seems more like a girl thing to do. What do you think?

I think it depends on the age. It is more of a girl thing, but guys do crash at friends houses sometimes, i dont know if they would call it a sleepover though lol.

Well, it's weird to call it a "sleepover". Lol. Guys crash at their friends' houses, not have sleepovers. Sleepovers are more of a girl thing.

I wouldn't use the term sleepover. But crashing at someones house is totally normal. In my experience it normally follows bar hopping or if theres a curfew because theres a bunch of murders that week.

drinking, partying, video games - all good excuses for staying over. See the point of guys sleepovers - is not to sleepover. it's to do something fun, then find it's too late or too much of a hassle to go home.. so you sleep over. You may plan to stay over for those reasons.. girls will admit it's for the point of sleeping over.. and finding entertainment inthat.

Oh yeah, it's one of the main guy rules, so you should know it.  As long as you've taken off your shoes, then you've fallen asleep.  That's cool.  If you're shoes are still on, then you've passed out, and anything (and just about everything, including things that would be considered miles past sexual harassment in any court) are fair game.

Permanent markers ROCK!

Not that I've ever done anything like that, but the last stagehand who passed out @ the _______ got gaff taped to a rolling chair and loaded into the back of a truck headed to Portland.*  Or so I've heard, I swear I know nothing about it.

* - oh yeah, we a bunch of guys I don't know who they are also took his wallet so that when they finally unloaded him in Portland he had to beg the money to get back.  Also, if you drink a lot, really a lot, you know, enough to pass out, and then are loaded into a truck, you're going to be pretty wet when you are unpacked 10 hours later.

Tell that rule to Boston Legal.

Anyway, Tekla has a point about what happens after passing out. Seen/done a few.

Yup, not weird but definitely "guys crashing/chillin" at your house not a "sleepover".

So wait what do you call it if your female friend (and I stress the word friend) spends the night. Is it still having a girl crashing at your place or is it a sleepover or does it have an entirely different title?

Calling it a sleepover make a big event out of the thing, but there's nothin' wrong with crashing at a friend's house. Get a group of guys and a decent supply of video games on a Friday evening and someone's probably gonna knock out sooner or later and the others are likely gonna follow suit unless they have a reason to go home.

Well when I stay over my female friend's house I call it staying over, or sleeping over. but its not like I call up and say "hey, let's have a sleepover." haha I think it is somewhere in between.
