Title: New Here
Post by: MsPaulaOtto on December 26, 2010, 07:58:31 PM
Hello All,

I just found this forum and thought I would join. I am well OLD. Eeek, I am almost thirty years old and still have not transitioned. But I hope to start this year.

What else??? Hmmmm I really love animals. I have cats and other exotic animals. So if you have pet questions I would be glad to answer them.

Lastly I am a M to F transsexual.

 I am not sure what else to say.  You can all ask me anything and I will answer whatever questions you might have  ;D.

Welcome to Susan's.

You will find that there are many who are 'older' and have not yet transitioned for one reason or another. The basic premise being that you are not alone in any meaningful way.You fit right in.

It would be advisable to not label 30 old around here.....
I am 42 myself and only a year into my transition.

Old? Wish I was 30 again that's for sure.
In  a way 30 sounds like a good age to transition, still young enough to look stylish, but old enough to have a bit of maturity about things.
Welcome and hope you had a good Christmas.

Welcome to the site  :icon_wave:

Thirty definitely isn't old :) There are a lot of people around the site (as you can see by the awesome people who posted before me) that agree. So what types of animals other than cats do you have? I think the closest I've ever gotten to owning an exotic pet was a horse and a pet rat, so not exotic at all.

Hi Susan S,

I am glad to see I am not the only new person. Thank you for the nice warm welcome.

Hi LordKat,

Thank you for the warm welcome. I am glad to see I am not the only person who is older and will start to transition.

Hi cynthialee,

Thank you for not calling me old  ;D. How was transitioning at your age?  If you do not mind me asking that is. If you do I am sorry. Please feel free to not answer as well. Thank you for the welcome as well.

Hi justmeinoz,

Thank you for the welcome. Also thank you for not calling me old. I am not sure I will ever be stylish but I hope to be soon  :).

Hi Michael Alexander,

Thank you for the welcome. Well I own three domestic short hairs/Ally cats. I also own an F3 Savannah cat. Which is an exotic domestic cat hybrid. I also have 20 species of exotic parrots (I breed them and whole sale the babies). I also breed a few reptiles and small mammals such as hedgehogs and such.

But I love my cats the most. I am a cat person  ;D.

Yes that would be quite a family reunion that's for sure . You do seem to have quite a few active members  ;D.

I did read the "must reads" that you posted. I do not have any questions right now. But I am sure I will. I am not quite sure I am a sister anyone would want  :D.

Congratulations on living full time  ;D.  Thank you for the warm welcome and not calling me old.

Hi Paula

welcome to the forum.
thirty isn't old, there is still a whole life left to explore.
So you start the next year? very exciting isn't it?
You will find a lot of supporting and knowledge here so you can take all the hurdles on your journey of transition.
And...we do have something in common.....I like cats too.
Anyway, if you have questions, doubts, fears of hope's, just pick up your keyboard and we'll be glad to help you where ever we can.
and don't say 30 is old, I'm much older, so you didn't make my day, i'm feeling almost dead and buried by now (lol) no, just kidding, I'm still feeling young.

Hugs
Annette

If there were an age that designated old im afraid that we could not have prospered like people as we have. you will see that people here will welcome you warmly and i would just like to join them in saying welcome and all that fun stuff... but any way i will conclude with that you should be happy that you are expressing yourself openly now and that no age should stop you for forming the image that you have created for yourself...

Hi, Paula
Welcome to your second home.  Wherever you are in your journey and self discovery, you are not alone.  Sit back, relax and just be yourself - like the rest of us.

As I read your note, I my goofy brain flashed a song:
Oh, to be Thirty again,
Back when a friend was a friend,
(the melody was an ancient country song, "Back in the Saddle Again" which proves my age as double yours beyond any reasonable doubt...)

Take the time to browse threads old and new; there is a great deal of wisdom and truth to be found here offered by real folks who have walked in our heels before us and resources you can find nowhere else.

Susan

Hello Paula,
Your a young one. ;) I'm glad you joined our family
I'm 60 and started transitioning less than a year ago.
I'll tell you it is not fun but it is much better than the alternative.  :P
Oh and if you have guess I'm a mtf too. ;D
Love animals both the wild kind and domesticated.
Welcome to Susan's,
