1. How much condoms cost
2. How difficult it is to sleep on your side in hospital after SRS
3. That a business or first class seat on the flight home is a REALLY good idea

All the above and...
4. Be awake enough after the 19+ hour flight to ask intelligent questions. Write them down!

If you can, go easy on the pain killers.
If you are all hopped up on pain killers you are more likely to rip stitches from not being careful enough.
As said above, leave scabs, gauze and stitches alone, they will fall off when they feel like it.
Thin pads are better than thick pads.
Thick pads put on too much pressure when you sit.
Thin pads just need more frequent changing.
The surgery is the easy part, recuperation is your (full-time) job.

3) Sign up for wheelchair assistance at the airport, through customs and during boarding.
Comment: I tried to walk through customs and nearly collapsed during the long wait. I was lucky to find a customs agent who was kind enough to get me a wheelchair and take me to the front of the line. Once at the boarding gate I took a pain pill which helped alot. During boarding they allowed me on board first with the other wheelchair customers which was wonderful.
This. I barely made it through customs; I was swaying and lightheaded by the time we got out.
