Among all the methods, I wanna know more about this one and hear actual and real experiences. Does it REALLY work? Anyone did this here?

It will be hard to find someone that went through the surgery because it leaves the voice sounding worser than it actually was..more like a raspy sound. So many girls just train their voice which takes practice of course.

No it doesn't
The vocal surgeries available are very good. Laser vocal tuning on top of vocal surgery produces amazing results.

Glinda is a bit of an expert on this subject, if she doesn't notice this thread and post in a couple of days, I'll message her and get ask her to post.

Dr. Thomas has a lot of before and after voice clips on his website, including some laser tuning results http://www.voicedoctor.net/media/cases/pitch/index.html (http://www.voicedoctor.net/media/cases/pitch/index.html)
Some people get better results than others. I seem to recall that "case 31" got an especially good result from the laryngoplasty, without need for laser.
Keep in mind that Dr. Thomas always stresses that surgery is not a substitute for speech therapy. Speech therapy is also required. I think the preferred course is to get speech therapy first, and then add the surgery as an assistive component if it is needed.

I know 2 people who have gone to Dr Thomas and their results are very good. I want to get it done if I can ever save up the $7000 to do it. Here is one example: transient protuberance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSVq2WLYS2k#ws)
Sometimes I don't really like her voice, but to be honest, it's similar to her voice before, just higher, so I wouldn't blame the surgery for that.

As far as where to get the procedure in Asian countries, I recall that the procedure was pioneered in Thailand. It's been awhile since I talked to Dr. Thomas about it, but I think he said that he went to Thailand and observed a procedure before attempting it himself. I also think I recall reading that some Thai GRS surgeons do it, so you can get the voice and GRS done at the same time. I don't know if they do the laser tuning, though. I think that is a Dr. Thomas original, becasue he said that he got the laser for other applications, and that he found it useful for the tuning.

There is an FFS dr who has about 30yrs experience in this type of surgery. He said if your voice already sounds feminine and ppl call you Ms or Mame then it is not necessary or wont have much of an impact, but if your one that has practiced alot and can not get anywhere near a feminine voice then it can raise the pitch a few degrees..Still, it is in your techniques that you use that will help most in getting the voice female correct..Nothing a dr can do to make you practice correctly to improve that.

Hi Glenda, that laser you're referring to, is it the same voice laser method as "Laser-assisted voice adjustment (LAVA)". Can we do that laser directly without passing by Laryngoplasty? And do you know a place or good Dr where we can do that in Thailand?

Dr. Thomas told me that the PDL laser procedure is not like the LAVA procedure. The LAVA procedure is supposed to cut away tissue and make the vocal chords have less mass. The PDL procedure uses burn points to reshape the chords. I don't know where either of these procedures can be had in Asia, sorry.
