Title: Getting some operations that are not trans related.
Post by: cynthialee on January 12, 2011, 11:26:54 AM
Tommorow morning I go in for an ulnar nerve translocation on my left arm. This is an outpatient procedure but I get paraniod and I am looking for healing energies, reiki, white light and blessings.

Then on the 26th I go in for a femoral aortic bypass. This is a major surgery and I am somewhat freaked out.
The issue is my aorta is 100% blocked at the bifircation that leads to the legs. My legs are surviving mearly from secondary blood suply. This surgery is only 14 days away and to be honest...I am worried.

So the result from tommorows surgery is that I will be typing one handed for awhile. If you are one of the people I chat with don't be surprised if I am not very responsive for some time.

So to be clear and open....if I die ... No you may not have my stereo.

;D

Cynthia Lee

I can understand your worry, surgeries in general are nerve racking for me. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you. BTW, I'm not allowing you to die and I don't think Sevan is either. You are therefore to return to us in good working condition or we will come after you.

I am sending energy to right now Sis.   Oh and just tell people the resulting scar from your femoral aortic bypass is where they did your hysto.  I just say that it is from a c-section.

Yes I have had a femoral aortic bypass and for the same reason.  Mine was caused from the nasty drug habit I had,  smoking.  And you will not die from it,  you may feel like it but you won't.  Oh, and get up and walk as soon as they let you.  It will get you and home quickly.

On the one hand I am sorry you have to face this, but on the other I am glad that you are in good hands and able to have a procedure to reduce your risk of future repetitions of the emergency admission that you suffered last year.

We need you around with us. I know your acerbic wit and to the point replies are greatly valued by many, myself included.

So good luck and heal well.

xxx.

TY Janet, Jenny and LordKat.
Janet;
I had no idea you had the bypass also.
I also am a smoker. I have drasticaly changed my smoking habits. (no more cigarettes, only 1 small cigar in the evening)
Not knowing anyone else who has had this surgery has had me worried and freaked. I am somewhat relieved knowing you went through this also.

Nice to hear the scar is in the same place as a hysto.

Hugz,
Cyndi

I had mine about 4 years ago.  And then I has a carotid aortic bypass to remove plaque.  that one was interesting.  Do what the doctors tell you, quit smoking totally.  It really isn't that hard to do.

Good luck Cyndi

My dad had a choice of bypass or a stent and he went for the stent because he thought it was less invasive. Well the stent didn't work out so well and it was the reduced heart function from succeeding heart attacks combined with Parkinson's that ended his life. I have often thought that if he had just gotten that bypass he would still be alive today. He died this past May and he would have been 67 last month. His death played a major role in my coming out.

Wishing you the best of luck Cyndi  :icon_wave: I'm sure it will go alright.

My grandfather had the same bypass procedure and he made it through with no problems. Good luck with the surgery

Good luck, Cyndi.

While I haven't had a surgery like that, I know people who have. I hope it goes smoothly for you.

I hope you are doing well, Cynthia.  It was the minor one.  But you will be fine from both.
