Haverford's anti-discrimination proposal sparks more debate

HAVERFORD — It was literally and figuratively the 11th hour Monday when commissioners cast their votes on a controversial anti-discrimination ordinance.
After listening to many voices speak passionately on both sides of the issue, engaging in heated debate themselves, and defeating a motion to table, commissioners approved the first reading of the measure 5-3 with one abstention.
