Hello all,
I am a producer working on a documentary about criticism, and am looking to speak with a few Transgendered individuals for our film in the Los Angeles area. What we are looking for is stories of the criticism you may have endured either before, during, or after your decision to make a lifestyle change, whether it be from family, friends, strangers, co-workers, etc. Also, we'd like to know if criticism of individuals in general had any influence on your choice to make the lifestyle change.
The interview would take less than an hour, and will be done in a tasteful manner. We are exploring how critical our society has become, and also how many avenues there are for critics via the news, internet, blogs, etc.
If interested, please respond via email to:
fcreetus@yahoo.com
Thank you!

Sorry for the incorrect terminology, I'm new to this community and should have thought the wording through more thoroughly, or done some more homework. No offense was intended, and you have my sincerest of apologies.

Oh fcreetus, don't worry about it. We can't even communicate between ourselves sometimes.
Just to clarify, are you looking to do an on film interview in the LA area, or can it be by phone, or email?

Ok, thanks for the forgiveness Cindi!...Unfortunately we have to do the interviews on camera, and in the Los Angeles area only.

I think for you to get much of a response, you would have to tell us a lot more about the project and your group.

Inquiring minds can email me with any questions:

I can assure everyone that this film is being produced by established, talented & respected individuals from the Los Angeles Film-making community, and is about 95% complete. Our film is chock-full of celebrities and everyday people giving their opinions on the state of criticism in our society. We are trying to give as many different groups a voice in the film as we can, as that will truly help deliver our message that people now more than ever, can be cruel, vicious & negative.
Hope that helps.

I'm new AND on the wrong coast, so I'm not sure that my response can be taken with more than a grain of salt.
My experience with media types is that they hide the truth beneath layers of double talk; For example:
"We are trying to give as many different groups a voice in the film as we can, as that will truly help deliver our message that people now more than ever, can be cruel, vicious & negative."
As I take out the scissors and dissect (sp?) that statement, my hackles are raised in alarm. I will draw your attention to the specific mention of "Our message". This means that this show has a viewpoint already and is looking to deliver "it's message", and to participate in this is to submit yourself to potential "cruel, vicious, and negative" comments on your life's direction. This may not be the intention of the OP, but as I stated earlier, my experience with media types is that they are in it for money and ratings, not for YOUR benefit.
In my opinion (and I work in a shipyard), people have been INCREDIBLY supportive and nonjudgemental. The only problems I seem to have are the folks between 18-25, who have not yet learned the "live and let live" mentality. I see no evidence, ANYWHERE, that people are now, more than ever, cruel, vicious, and negative. If anything, I've found that people are more accepting, less judgemental, and generally nonchalante (sp?) about what one does with their life.
