my goal is to improve my life and don't make it worse than it is.

Here are my top few goals, limited to transsexualism. :)

1. To get GRS this year.
2. To form a meaningful relationship with a boyfriend, and agree to get "not married."
3. To repair my relationship with my family, and if this proves impossible - to choose a new one.
4. To continue to give as much support as possible as part of the Susan's support team. (Important!)
5. To one day have a slumber party with the people I care about most: Evelyn, LynnER, Maud, Ilsa, Buffy, and Brandi.

"As a transsexual", I really don't have any.  Since I completed my transition many years ago, the transsexual aspects of my life have all but disappeared.

I have many goals and objectives.  Every couple of years when I complete my list, I prepare a new one.  It's funny that 20 years ago, I prepared my life list... everything that I wanted to do in my life.  I completed that list only 5 years later.  My professional career has come to an end.  It was unplanned but it happened at a good time... while I was still young!

Now my goals include writing, making music, and designing and building beautiful things in wood.  I've purchased some new instruments and I'm learning to play them.  I'm doing some new designs in my little business.  If I were to tie it all together into one goal it would be that I mean to create art for the rest of my life.  It will take form in word, music, and wood.

To live exactly how I want to and no other way, to feel comfortble in my own skin, to form relationships with people who accept me for who I am not my biological history, to form a relationship with someone and sexually be comfortable, to not conform to any stereotypes of gender, and to ultimately be happy which as male I never could be.


That and to pounce tickle brianna at every optertunity :P.

I'm still not completely sure what my goals are.  I am no longer TS and like others I plan to put that part of my life behind me, not to deny that I ever was, but to look forward to my future, whatever that holds.

My immediate  goal is to recover from SRS, and get back to work.  After that who knows.  I do plan on staying with Susan's unless she has other ideas :) and I still plan on helping the community as best I can.  In fact I have another interview scheduled for this month with a research group from Brock University on TS issues.

I have a great job with a major international school bus company and I plan on continuing with them for as long as I can, and finally I plan on continuing to have fun dancing, and fooling around with guys ;)  - Hey a girl has to have fun.

I have put my transsexualism behind me now. I really don't have any goals, I like my job and I don't have any money worries, so I really don't have any goals. What I do is cause trouble, not intentionally. It just happens, you see I have this foot and ever since I was a baby I like it in my mouth.

Sheila, you are too cute!  That is funny.

I know that it is hard to think of anything else while transitioning.  But if you can, it is a very good idea to keep a goals and objectives list.   When you are done with transition, it won't be.  Wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to have your life on hold for the duration?  It doesn't take much to get on with your life while you are transitioning.... it can be something little like a hobby.

I've seen some of my friends experience a great emptiness after transition and they lose time from their lives while they get their act together.  It is unfortunate in some ways.

Hmmmmm I really haven't thought of myself as a transsexual for a very long time.  I suppose that my goal in life has definitely changed over the years somewhat.
When I was a child, my goal was to have many dolls, dresses, long hair, my nails polished just to be happy.  During my teens my goal was  to be loved by a guy, be kissed for the first time, and pass all my tests at school also in an effort to be happy.  Now as an adult, my goal is to be successful in my career in oder to be happy as well.  So what common denominator have I sought during my life?  Just one:  Happiness. :)

Goals as a transsexual?  None.
Goals as a woman - I was top woman finisher at the Hornet Nationals last season. My goal is to actually win a main event.
I want to learn to scuba dive.
Others include: Finish my book, get published, finish my latest stained glass windmill, finish my family album and get copies to Mom and all 8 brothers and sisters.
I did have to give up on one goal. I have been trying to get Andy and his daughters to reconcile. I guess there has been too much water under the bridge. Andy is never going to see eye-to-eye with the rest of his family and they don't care to compromise their position either.

More goals in life to be added as experience in life is added.

Join the policeforce and become a firearms officer, to be actually able to help people.
run the london marathon
marry
sprogs
run another to get back in shape
be a 'milf'
live happily ever after

To escape the misery I lived in before (for the most part I've accomplished this);
To make right everything I don't like about my body (SRS is one part of this - getting in shape would be another part);
To be in a long term lesbian relationship with a like minded woman;
To have a career in science and pursue knowledge for knowledge's sake (which won't be cheap, and right now I'm needing to save up all I can).

i'm also learning here as i go.   i've grown so much since i became a member here, if i could, i'd change the title of the topic to:

what is your goal as a woman/man?

Ideally:
To put this whole TS thing behind me. To get a body that matches my mind and hopefully one day all but forget entirely of this stuggle to fit in. Oh, and to have a family that still loves and supports me after transition.

Realistically:
What I said up there, minus the part about my family. I'm slowly coming to that conclusion.

My goal as a transsexual is to finish my transition...if at all possible, like a few others here have said, I would like to be able to have my surgery sometime this year.  Transition (and specifically how I'm going to get from point A to point B in the process)  takes up so much of my thoughts on many days, especially once I am at a point where I am close to reaching another milestone.  When this is finally behind me, hopefully I can begin to plan the rest of my life with a much clearer head. 

To be accepted and respected by my local community in a social and work context.

To earn more in my acquired gender than in my assigned gender.

This is a hard question for me to awnser as I havent even come out yet. I have two possible awnsers.

1 to get on with being male, and live life and stop thinking about who I am. yerrr get real. (most Likley)
2 to be the woman I know I am have HRT and GRS and get on and live a happy normal life.

Actually its funny because I will identify as TS in some context.  Because I am going to be one of those few women to take up the cause as an activist.
Short term:
1. Go out in public more often.
2. Start HRT
3. Go full time, when I am completely prepared. 

Long term:
1. To have my body match my mind completely.
2. To continue to be an activist for all the various causes I attach myself with.

Above all:
3. Achieve self acceptance and some degree of happiness. 

I am lucky enough to be in a career and in a workplace where I can transition on the job without the fear of losing a part of my life I love dearly.

To be totally true to myself, instead of hiding behind my anime drawings and role-playing games all the time. To end my indesicion and depression, and to one day be able to walk into a party wearing my favourite red dress with my head held high, a smile on my face and the triumphant confidence of reality shining from every pore on my body.

My goals are...
1. Take a picture with me smiling ;)
2.Adopt a kid
3.train my voice and learn a instrament to become a known singer, if not well known  :D
4. Get into a carrier of my choice, maybe video game maker?  ;D
5. write a novel
6. start a webcomic
7. Be known for one good thing, this is the most important one

The rest, like my family or getting married, will happen or it won't, like all this. I've gone through to much to give up, but I will adapt if need be. :)

my goal for life, is to have a carear (make it to CO19 and eventually command it), 2 kids later, slave/husband, and a family of my own :)

Goals, goals, goals.... let me see, hum. Probably get surgery so I can feel more inclined to move on with my life. And, also, I need to keep doing art and figure out where I want to go with it, whether that be a rock star or piccasso, I don't know (although rock star sounds like more fun, but more exhausting).

Sadly my list is kinda long...

-Get started on HRT
-Get Electrolisis
-Get a new wardrobe
-Tell the last of my friends and Family
-Go full time
-SRS

ok, not that long, but still daunting

My goals change day by day, I so want to be a woman at the moment, that HRT GRS ans FFS are all I want, to intergrate into society and be a happy woman.

Yes, but I mean having a positive attitude about it and enjoying what I do have.  I have been focusing lately on SRS, which has really had me depressed lately since it hasn't happened yet.
