Does anyone post take progesterone and what have you noticed the difference is and what have you been told the benefits are if any?

I've taken it in various forms pretty much since day one so unfortunately I can't really tell you what difference it has made. The only thing i can say is that when, in an attempt to save a bit of money on his drugs bill, my GP removed me from it for a short while, twice, I found that on both occasions my sex drive collapsed to less than nothing and I also became very depressed.

Consequently, on both occasions I was put back on it after just a couple of months.

I do take it post, one benefit is that it helps with libido so you don't lose your sex drive.

well my dr put me on it to see if it would help with my hair loss which it didnt.  he said nothing bad would come from taking it but the only noticable thing would be my breast would get fuller.  i really cant tell if they did or didnt though.

How long ago did you start on it?

I was on Prometrium (micronized, bio-identical progesterone) in the US since my surgery, but when I moved to Australia I discovered it isn't available here. My scrip ran out and I suffered serious depression for about 2 weeks-- oh god it was awful and I literally wanted to die. I went to a endocrinologist here and found out I can get pure progesterone from what is called here a "compounding chemist". It costs more but what a difference! He also doubled my dose (troches which dissolve in your cheek), as well as doubling my estradiol. Since then I've noticed more breast fullness, and recently a marked increase in the size of my nipples/areolas which are as sore now as when I started HRT 2 years ago.

For me there have been definite observable benefits to it, both physical and psychological. My new endo also told me that generally these types of benefits are seen in the pure hormone and not so much in the synthetic ones. I'm just glad I found it here and like it better than even the prometrium.

I began on progesterone after my orchie.  I also have notice a fullness in my breasts.

Hello i am only 18 day post, but continue progesterone post-op because progesterone help breast growing and face feminize.

No more testosterone in my body exept surrenal testosterone , the progesterone (prometrium) is the best and very important for me at this time in my post-op transition.

  I started using Prometrium (micronized progesterone) in October. I've noticed a few things...

  There are "tingly" feelings in my breasts, just behind my nipples.. Not like the pain you feel during early HRT.... These sensation are really nice.

  Definite changes in my nipples... they're darker and have grown just a little from beneath... they look a bit perkier than before. It's hard to put my finger on how  but my breasts, overall, just look better.

  My sex drive has increased but in a very feminine way; I feel like I want to be really, really close to someone and have that person inside... I've been fantasizing more frequently. It really sucks because I'm not seeing anyone right now.

  I've become kinda bitchy. I've lost a bit of my usual ability to deal with disagreements without getting angry. My best friend, a g-girl, told me that it's like PMS.

  Overall, I love the physical effects but the emotional effects are a mixed bag.
