But it wasnt srs :(...it was from getting my wisdom teeth cut out. The iv sedation did put me to sleep mighty qucik and it felt like i just took a short little nap....cant wait till srs :(

Lol! yess it sucks! I had dreams simliar to what you said. Before the gave me the iv to pull out my wisdom teeth i was just looking at it being practice awaiting my srs surgery in less than 10seconds :(

Hilariously, the first things I thought about when I woke up were:
- where's my fiancé?
- why is my throat so dry?
- OMFG I AM SO DAMN COLD
- Jesus Hell I need to pee, REAL BAD!
- where am I?
- how long do I have to lie here before I get to see my fiancé?
- it feels like several hours have gone by
- Oh! I'm alive! Nothing went wrong!
- I wonder when I get morphine?
It wasn't until I'd been settled back into my room that I finally thought about WHAT had just happened and how my genitalia had changed (not that you can actually tell, there's just a big diaper-like bandage over your crotch - for all I knew there could have been an Elder God in there, waiting to be released to devour innocent souls).

I was mildly concerned when I first woke up, seeing that massive cast between my legs, made me think they didn't remove it.

I don't even remember any kind of countdown, I remember my heart rate, and then waking up with a massive cast and my legs being numb lol.

No countdown for me; the anaesthetist injected something into my hand cannula then said "How do you feel?"
Me: "Nothing yet"
Him: "Now?"
Me: "Feel slightly drunk"
*Pause*
Me: "Now VERY drunk"
*Gone*

When I had major surgery, I remember switching over to the operating table and getting some what comfortable and then some one calling my name.  I imagine the same thing will happen when I finally get the growth removed.

The gas stinks for me! But i had the iv done twice on two surgeries. The lady had said "that i.d feel the room spinning" i was thinking to myself "yea right whatever! Ha, i bet i can beat this!" next thing you know...i woke up! It was funny!

Interestingly, I didn't have the feeling of going out and waking straight up; when I woke up I had a strong feeling that a lot of time had passed and that I'd been doing...something during that time. What the 'something' was, I couldn't put my finger on. However, I'm a lucid dreamer, so that might have something to do with my brain continuing to monitor time while my higher conscious functions were shut down.

First time around in the 1980's I recall being wheeled into theatre and seeing the machinery which immediately made me think of the monty python film and the "machine that goes ping" about which I made a joke.

The surgeon turned to the anesthetist and said "if she is going to crack terrible jokes like that you'd best put her out or we wont get any work done." The next thing I knew BAM it was like being hit with a sledge hammer.

I woke up hours later with no sense of time having passed, to find myself feeling deliciously clean, like I had been scrubbed for hours. I knew it was gone, and immediately I phoned a friend to tell them I was still alive. Later they told me that I sounded very drunk.

The second time round, last year, with the revision, it was like what Cait describes. Something was injected into my hand canula. The anesthetist said - it will go soft focus in a moment. I was talking, things went blurred, then they just faded out. I don't think I even finished my sentence.

I dreamed! I have never dreamed before under an anesthetic, but I had a lovely dream, and then I slowly faded back into reality still in the operating theatre, but with everything done and they looked at me and said, "That was a quick. Well perhaps we'd better take you back upstairs now." I asked what time it was and when they were going to get started, they laughed and told me it was about four o'clock which as I'd gone down at mid-day meant that at least 3 hours had passed. They meant that my coming round from the anesthetic had been quick. Apparently I woke up just minutes after the surgeon finished the last stitch and before they had even wheeled me into recovery.

Wow a dream? Thats neat! Good thing it was a lovley dream..wouldnt want you waking up during an operation because you had a nightmare. hehe
