Title: Therapist in Chicago area?

I'm looking for a therapist in the Chicago area. One of my mother's friends recommended a person named Randi Ettner, has anyone heard anything about her? Her website was fantastically unhelpful.
I tried Howard Brown a few months back and they said they "didn't have anyone that met my criteria" at that time. I could try and call back I suppose, but that's a very long drive, so something closer would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Randi was the psychologist that wrote my second letter for my SRS. She is an author of several books regarding the transgender and transsexual experience. Yes, she is very good.
Another one is Deb Wilke. She was my primary therapist during my transition and for others that I know. She wrote my first letter for my SRS. http://www.compassionatecounseling.com/Therapist.html (http://www.compassionatecounseling.com/Therapist.html)
I am sure that there are others as well.
My primary care physician is at the Howard Brown Triad clinic. I'm surprised that they were unable to help you. What criteria were you asking for?

Quote from: Sandy on January 23, 2011, 09:27:54 AMI don't suppose you have a phone number for her and/or know if she's taking new patients on currently? As I said, her website is unhelpful.

Quote from: Sandy on January 23, 2011, 09:27:54 AMFemale therapist for help with GID and general depression. I was a bit surprised too to be honest; I didn't think the criteria was THAT specific...
