Title: Standing To Pee.
Post by: Kentrie on January 25, 2011, 05:04:45 PM
I feel ashamed when I do this for some reason. I don't use a STP, I just stand close to the toilet and it goes where it's supposed to go without making a mess of anything. But my question is why do I feel ashamed after I do it? Sometimes I'll look at my girl parts and think I'm not good enough to be a boy because of those parts and I thought that might be it but it really bothers me.

Maybe you feel ashamed b/c you see the girl part down there and your peeing like a boy knowing you have the wrong part down there and it should be a penis, not a female part?

I'm not sure if that made any sense or not what I wrote.

maybe because you're peeing like a girl would , not like a guy persay? i mean, both are standing to pee, but with a stp its more 'official' like its supposed to be a penis, but just standing over it like a chick is something a woman would do, one with little class at that. No offense by what i say, but that might make sense. Also, i know i could just never do that because somehow i can use the stp to go the bathroom but if i ever did what you do my dysphoria would go through the roof. since the stp is kind of like a coverup for missing my male-parts down there, but peeing with no stp actually intensifys my focus on the females parts down there and would freak me out

So, I don't have class? I try to be a decent classy person. If I sit down my dyshoria is even worse. I can't afford an STP, I'm too young to buy one and my mom doesn't have a credit card so I can't order it online.

well like i said, i didnt mean any offense. but i meant in a female sense...if a female does that, then that's pretty classless. In your case, that doesn't work since you're not a chick so it's different. i can agree with you though about the sitting down thing, though to me, standing up like that and doing it would be even worse. im just saying, maybe you feel ashamed because you are doing it like a chick more-so since theres so stp, thats all. i'd feel like way if i did it that way, so figured maybe same for you?

I only stand up because it's even worse to sit down but it's also depressing because there's nothing there to hold on to. I'll mimic holding on to something though. Lol. That works a little.

Rex's explanation seems to make sense.  You're doing the best you can with the parts you have, but it kind of emphasizes the fact that they're the wrong parts.

Personally I don't stand to pee.  I'd like to, but I don't have the money for a good STP, medicine spoons are too hard to use and when I really have to go I don't want to fuss with it.  It makes me a little nervous when going in the men's room... if there are other guys in there I'll stay in the stall for a minute or two after I'm done so they think I'm taking a dump :P

Hey man there are cheap ways to STP. Like using a coffee can lid or a medicine spoon which can be rinsed and stuffed into a pocket or backpack. Maybe if you were using something like that you would feel better about it? Here's a site with some good suggestions. The STP (non-packers) seems like it might help.

there are always like dozens of how-tos to make a simple one with cheap materials. maybe try something like that, and see if you feel better?

The first and only time I used the mens room I was nervous and did the same thing.

If you can pee standing up without an stp AND get it to go where you want it to go, I'd say you've got a bit of talent. I by no means can say that I can do that.

The ftm's on here that I admire are the ones who go into the men's room and use the urinals in the open air.  I'm not to that point yet.  Even so I always use the men's room and I use my stp in the stall.  The way a man urinates and the way a woman urinates sounds completely different so I stand to pee.  In the eyes of the others if they consider me at all I'm just cock shy and want to pee in private.  I haven't had anyone question it.  OP, if you want to stand and pee I don't see anything wrong with it.  I'm not sure how that would work without taking your pants off, or at least a leg out.  However if you can I say go for it.

There have been times when I have gone into very crowded men's rooms and I just do my thing and leave.  One of the worst experiences was when I took my autistic 6 year old into a crowded men's room at a gas station and he got scared of the hand dryer.  Possibly also scared of how crowded the small space was.  With all his might he started screaming with his hands over his ears and that turned everyone's attention on us.  I grabbed him and dragged him away, still screaming, and back out to the car.  My heart was pounding out of my chest but nothing happened.  I knew we shouldn't have stopped there but he insisted.  Damn that kid ...

I can even aim at things and it will hit it :)

but there are men that choose to sit to pee or have to because of piercings etc and I don't really thing folks are listening super intently to the way everyone is peeing so I wouldn't let that worry you too much especially if you are going into the stall.

I like to sit and take my time - plus, carry around something with me that has urine on it? Grosses me out. I've never tried an STP and I don't really feel the need... and there are certainly men who sit to pee. I was worried about it one time and my dad said "Personally, I rarely stand to pee. It's annoying and uncivilised, leave it for highway stops. And if anyone confronts you because they heard you pee sitting down, ask them why the hell they were listening."

As for the original question, it probably has to do with being very aware of your anatomy as you pee. I don't really know... my lower dysphoria never gets too bad.

Medicine spoons are an option. Cheap, easy to modify and small.

There are ways to aim a bit better when standing to pee: http://otoh.org/mirror/restrooms.org/standing.html (http://otoh.org/mirror/restrooms.org/standing.html)

as long as the urinals are dished well, ie they have the good chunky sides that you can lean into, I have no problem using my stp in them in public... then when I'm done, I slide the clean end that wasn't against my body up my sleeve, keep the gross body end in my hand.. and once my hands are in the sink.. slide it out, wash it, and put it back in my pocket. No one's noticed.. and if they have they sure haven't said anything.

Sorry if I'm intruding guys.
I'm part time so use the Men's loo at work. I always use the stall, as no one would be surprised to hear.  I know from experience of listening of people coming in and out that guys sitting for a pee is very common. There was even a News paper article over here where the Gouy writing it said there should be more stalls as standing next to other guys to urinate was gross.
Just as an addendum. There are camping stores selling the equivalent to STP's for woman going camping and who don't want to squat. I know you guys aren't women but it may be a way to get a STP a bit cheaper.
