Title: Have any of you had Meta and/or scrotal implants -only-?
Post by: Lukas-H on February 03, 2011, 09:21:11 AM
Have any of you had a meta and/or scrotal implants without a urethral hookup or vaginectomy?

I'm almost certain I never want a vaginectomy and I am very squeamish against the idea of a urethral hookup. Is it possible to get meta and implants without those? Will a surgeon let you?

Next question involves vaginal penetration. I know a lot of you guys aren't into it, but I do know there are some dudes out there who like it (I'm one of them). Would it be possible to get scrotal implants and they wouldn't get in the way of penetration?

I haven't had the surgeries, but from my understanding of it, they take the labia to form the scrotal sack, so I don't know how they would be able to create scrotal implants while maintaining either access to the vagina for sex OR to the urethra for peeing.

Well on Sex Change Hospital (a short tv documentary done about patients of Marci Bowers) there was one FtM guy who had Scrotal implants without a urethral hookup.

He did WANT the urethral hookup, and I suppose he eventually got it as this was made a few years ago, but during the time he didn't have it I guess he just went to the bathroom normally.

I kind of answered my own question, but I was more wondering about penetration that anything else and wanted a personal perspective on it.

I haven't had any surgeries, but if you think about porn, well, I think vaginal sex would still be possible with testicles, it may be a little bit more difficult then before the surgery, but if you get your legs up high enough u could probably do it, and doggie style would obviously work.

thats all i have to contribute here though, just opinion, sorry

Late to the party but yes, it is possible to get a simple meta with implants and keep your vagina open.  Dr. Bowers does this procedure and it is fairly simple and inexpensive.  Your scrotum is not fused, though but externally it looks normal, but you can part your balls and find your vag.

Last time I checked the cost was around $8000 and was done as an outpatient.  I seriously considered it because I was afraid of messing with my urethra; but ultimately I realized I wouldn't be happy unless I could, and I had intense dysphoria with the vag and it needed to go.

Check out Dr. Bowers' website.

If you went with a simple meta (as described on Dr. Bowers' site), do you have the option to later get a urethral hookup and such if you want to do that? Or does it make it harder to do further surgery there, later on?

I'm not sure.  I would imagine it would make it harder because you'd have to undo the meta to put a urethra in, but I'm not a surgeon.  Best to email the surgeons and ask them directly since they'd be the ones trying to do it.

"Without the urinary hook-up, this is not a perfect procedure but does not prevent future urinary work if so desired"

Aha, thank you. That's an interesting idea, then.
