Title: Pain in the little guys down below?
Post by: Melody Maia on February 09, 2011, 06:01:07 PM
Sorry if this is TMI, but for the last few days I have had pain in my testicles. It feels like they are being squeezed and they are very sensitive to movement like coughing, walking or even sudden stops in the car. Taking Aleve seems to help.  I am 4 months on HRT.

Has anyone experienced anything like that? I hate to think it might be a hernia.

or, give a call to whoever prescribed your androgen blockers?

You do need to get some professional advice on this one Melody.

But two things spring to mind. Constipation and testicular atrophy.

The constipation can be caused by the diuretic effect of the androgen blocker.

I've heard of similar symptoms to this happening to some young boys, during the early stages of puberty. Though the causes were said to be testicular growth, constipation and wind! (All three together).

Thanks Spacial. I am going to my endo's office on Friday anyway. After checking out the area, nothing feels amiss or bulging and I don't use an AA. I feel it may indeed be testicular atrophy, but I'll let the doc make that determination.

I would seek out professional medical advice, as that is not normal.

All depends on if you hurt yourself.  If you moved wrong and "Pop" goes testie.   But if it is an on going problem definably have the doctor check.  Of course he might find something that means they have to go.  ::)

I hurt my lower right back somehow just before the Disney adventure with the girls started. It is possible that it all may be connected. My lower right side of my body feel all disjointed and my right testicle seems to mainly be the culprit. Growing older sucks!

My twins are in a constant state of pain. They always have been but since I started HRT it got bad enough to whine about it to the doctor.
I had an ultrasound done and it turns out I have cysts on the vasdeferense and deformed testicles. I go to see a urologist on the 14th to see about having them removed.

Go see your doc and get some testing done.

Melody, I injured my lower back about 5 years ago, and it indeed felt like I had been kicked in the groin. The doctor said it was just my back, and it was. Not saying you shouldn't get it checked, but it might be related to the back injury.

As far as I am aware this is not uncommon after about 3 to 4 months on HRT. I certainly went through a period of this aching (in my case they felt heavy and bruised) but it all settled down after a few weeks.

Unless yours do not settle I would not worry too much

Also the possibility of epididymitis, though I think that usually just affects one testicle, but not sure.  Let us know what your doc says, and wish you all the best.

Ok, so I went to a chiropractor today because of the pain on my lower right side. Lo and behold, my spine is misaligned in increasing amounts towards my pelvis. My pelvic bone is actually 5mm lower on one side than the other and it has given my spine a bit of curve down there that is quite easy to see in x-ray. Good news is no ruptured disks or anything like that and a 5mm lift on one side plus some adjustments should put me right. Already feel much better tonight and the pain in my little guys has diminished too. I will see if that might clear things up, but I will still talk to my endo when he calls with my test results.

Melody.

Since you've recently moved and been under a lot of stress, it occurs that you might think a bit about your posture.

Your bed will be different. You need a firm bed.

When sitting, try not to slouch. (Sorry to talk like your mom, but moms weren't just being annoying when they told us not to slouch).

As for the little guys, as you put it, they will, hopefully, be evicted soon.

And sorry to nag, but do keep drinking lots of fresh water.

Thank you for the advice Spacial. I don't slouch nearly as much anymore because of my breasts and bra. Feels better to sit up straight. I do miss my nicer bed I use to have. Might need to do something about that. The main culprit here is probably an old knee injury.
