Title: Underworks 988 problems
Post by: Nonstandard on February 12, 2011, 02:13:37 PM
Hey y'all. Finally got my first real binder a few weeks ago and it's terrible... honestly don't know if it's the right size or not or just a bad model so I figured maybe someone here would be able to help me figure this out. I got the Underworks 988 in a small and it does bind fairly well...until I bend over, move my arms/lift anything heavy, reach up to get something, or exhale too deeply because then everything shifts to the front and it looks like a really-crappy-sports-bra-uniboob type deal instead of being more flat like when I first put the binder on and get everything situated. I'm baffled because the binder feels pretty darn tight. I'm a DD but have a really small ribcage, so I'm not sure if an extra small binder would work better or just be even more restrictive. I went for the 988 because it's a double-front elastic but only on the chest instead of all the way down and that sounded a lot more comfortable.

Anyway, is this a common problem when binding? Is there some trick to wearing a binder that I don't know? Did I just buy a crappy binder? Any suggestions? ???

I don't have that binder, so I can't say anything about it. But in my experience with the tri-top and double front from Underworks, the uniboob is kind of unavoidable.  :-\ My chest just does what it wants and always shifts back to uniboob mode as soon as I move. Still, it's generally flat enough to pass so I don't worry about it. Hopefully some other guys who have experience with that particular binder will come along. If you have the cash, you might try a different binder, but I don't know if it will help.
