Title: hormones and changes in my voice

ive read a thousand times that hormones will NOT change your voice,,,,i say bull crap...my voice is Definitely different, higher I dont care what anyone says,,,,,,just go look at my latest youtube video my channel superkitty036

No, it can change your voice. It is just not very common.

My gender therapist told me that sometimes hormones can change your voice; it's just something you can't count on.  She even encouraged me not to work on my voice until I'm on hormones, since if the hormones did have an effect I'd basically have to start over at that point with a different voice.

So is there a better chance that hormones will help your voice if you dont have a deep voice? I dont have a deep voice at all! And i hope the hormones make my voice a little bit higher!

as they said, there is a CHANCE, but nothing much, dont expect too much that'd be sad to be disapointed about it :S

I think like everything else with hormones it's prolly quite random what you get. And you do seem to be able to get changes people say you won't get, or won't get after a specific age. Course you could end up not getting the changes you're supposed to get too.

If I may, I suggest the most important thing to do with your voice is to adjust the intonation.

Hormones affected my voice insomuch that I now have a hard time hitting a low voice without really trying at it for a while. That, and my voice seems to default to an octave higher than it usually did before. Still, though, it didn't "give" me a female voice.

My voice is much more feminine now than it was before hormones but I don't think that was because of the hrt.  It was a lot of training.  Once the voice has dropped, it's dropped for good.  But the good news is that the voice you had beforehand is still there, you just need to learn not to use the lower bit.  The female voice, at least how I've felt it, resonates a little farther back in the throat than the male voice.  So if your voice is higher chances are you've just been working on it and it's had a positive effect.

I've heard similar reports from others who also say their voice changed.
