So this may be a bit of a silly question, but did you guys have an imaginary friend when you were little? For years I had 3 imaginary friends, mike, jesse and cris. When I was "hanging out" with them i was josh. I dont know if thats weird or what. I felt so right because I was a boy, and they all knew me as a boy, being imaginary and all. So, I was just wondering if anyone else had imaginary friends too, and maybe if they were the same gender as you or not.

Yup. I had three. Adrian, who was a vampire. Zach, who was an anthromorphic snake. And Mike, who was modeled after the actor Michael Rosenbaum.
You can guess by their names, they were all male.

Thats cool to know! I was just going through all my old journals and stuff, from as far back as age 7 and then I thought about my imaginary friends lol, and I was wondering if I was the only one. That was another huge hint to my GID, I was so happy when I could pretend to be a boy with them.

I did the same thing. My imaginary friend was named Shiloh. I used to play board games with him. XD
And when I was hanging out with him, I indeed was a boy.
I also had a bunch of animal friends though...

Ok so I def wasnt the only one lol. I cant say I ever had any imaginary animal friends, but thats probably because I always had so many pets and didnt need to..

That was probably why I always had them, because I'm allergic to most pets and didn't have very many.

I had one when I was five or so. Can't even remember if he had a name, but I pictured him as a big hairy cyclops.

I had a imaginery world, where I was liked and I was smart and I became famous and sometimes I was married, sometimes not. But always, I was loved. I lived in this world full time and there was a period of about 2 years where I made some awesome friends and I left this world but things happened and as soon as I was on my own again, the world just re-appeared. Its a substititute for the real world, I know that, but its a way to deal.

I didn't have imaginary friends, but I role played as male with friends and family almost 24/7 as a kid. I think it's pretty normal to fantasize or role play as children when you don't actually 'exist' in reality. (Actually it's fairly normal for every kid, but there's another dimension to it when it's the only time you can be yourself)
