The day i've been dreading has finally arrived. The day was going perfect until I brought up changing my name with my boyfriend. Whenever anything about transistioning pops up we usually end up on the verge of breaking up. He has been so supportive and has helped me so much. He has tried to get used to the idea of being with a man but he has stated that we need to make a logical decision now because if I want to transistion we need to end things. And so after a long discussion we are over. We arent telling friends or family yet as I feel they would ask why and I dont wanna come up with some excuse because me and my partner were perfect together and so i'd have to tell people the real reason and right now I need to wait a bit until Im fully out to everyone. It feels horrible and Im not sure what im gonna do but at the same time we are still gonna be best friends. Theres no way that we cant be. Im off to his on thursday to watch Toy Story lol and then were off to a mates party on saturday and i'll then be sleeping at his and in his bed so really nothing has changed. I guess my worst worry is him meeting someone because that would break my heart but I think its safe to say he wont be with anyone for a while.

Damn man, I'm so sorry for you. That's harsh, at least it wasn't out of the blue, though. I've got a lot of respect for you for being strong though, and sticking with what you need regardless of the reactions. At least you guys can stay friends, that's been my biggest fear with my girlfriend, (we're barely even dating anymore, but that's a really long story) we'd break up under some horrible circumstances and never talk again.

Sorry to hear that. It's a difficult area for all of our SO's. But it doesn't lessen the pain
