Depression can do that to Helena.  When do you see your doctor or therapist again?

Dr appointment on tuesday Janet...I even wanted to sleep at work. Admittedly it was training and dull as hell, but I could feel my eyes closing.

I think I'd prefer it if I was turning into a cat...I woldn't have to work and there'd always be someone to cuddle up to.

I think i'd make an excellent cat actually.

*prepares Helena size cat  condo and supersize book shelves. * Will you be needing a litter box with that or will the toilet suffice?

poor nutrition can also make you sleep and lethargic., you look undernourished. How tall are you?

Give the lady a prize.  ;D

In real life Helena is indeed pretty badly underweight, but like all anorexics she can't always see it.

She and I are almost the same height. I weigh almost twice as much as she does, and although I am definitely overweight and decidedly curvy I am not that gross.

Helena is probably 3 to 4 stone under the "mid range" healthy weight but even though she can see the figures in the medical tables she doesn't seem to accept that they are right.

Helena

I knew someone, many years ago, who had an eating disorder, like yours. As you know, the appitite doesn't return. But this woman sat down and after some thought, realised she really didn't want to die.

So, from that point, she decided to concentrate on the quality of what she ate, rather than the quantity.

It took her a while, but she sought out stuff that packed in proteins, carbohydrates, fats, salts and just about anything else her body needd, in relatively small quantities.

As others have pointed out, depression is a side effect of undernorishment, especially proteins and Iron.

Try taking 1000 iu of Vitamin D-3.  It is what most in Oregon do for the "Winter" blues.

B vitamins might help too.  For a bit there I was sleeping about 12hrs/day and never hungry.  It was suggested that I start taking those, and they did help a fair amount.  I ended up having low thyroid and anemia, so the tiredness didn't really go away until I got those taken care of.  However, I did notice having more energy after I started taking a B12 complex.

I wanted to be a cat, ???  I remember when I was young.  What I remember saying to my Mom,  " I want to be a cat,  then I would not have to go to school".   :-\ ..... That totally put me in a time warp.
