Title: Purses...
Post by: chunk on January 16, 2007, 01:33:31 AM
I gave up on carrying a purse. I tried again since November. Finally tossed it on the floor.

I'm carrying some kind of tiny book bag now. Much better.

Purses anyone? Who does the purses? Who has the collections? Who prefers wallets?

Chunk.

i don't [collect] purses, i just have quite a few hidden in my closet waiting for the right ocassion.  i carry everything in my purse, from my credit cards, to my lip balm, yet sometimes when i'm in a rush, i only grab my clutch and run the errands i have to run.

I had a few purses for a while, haven't used them for years in favor of a purple fanny pack. I never wear the pack, just carry it by the strap. If I'm just going grocery shopping I take my wallet and keys and put them in my coat pocket.

I have one but never use it. I prefer pockets and my wallet.

I have a messenger bag. Large enough to hold all my stuff, and not too femme. Win/Win.

I have some but as a rule use about 6,000 other bags and devices!  the briefcase / saddle bag is a big one for work weeks.. On other times, a fanny pack (yes i think they lost their luster but are still very very useful!) a messenger bag like nathan posted..
None of them are girlie i think just utilitarian for me...

I have one, but it very rarely even gets to ride in the car.  I generally just put stuff in my pockets.  I do have a small makeup bag that finds its way into a pocket of whatever bag I'm carrying (Laptop bag, golf bag, glovebox of the car).

I have used fanny packs, but hadn't thought about just carrying them...hmmm...great idea Zythyra  8)

Messenger bags are great, especially for the younger folk...just remember, to look best, it needs to look well worn.  So, take that new bag you bought after reading this thread and beat it up real good...ahhh...that's better.

And I never thought I would hear the words Ricki and utilitarian in the same sentence.  Always thought you had more flair, lady.

What about change? Where do people keep all that awful change? Its on the side of my wallet right now...and its too bulky there.

I take care of the makeup by having covert stashes at work and in my car.

Change I just put in my front pocket. If I have too much though it jingles. I also keep some in my car for drive throughs. Or sometimes I prefer in coat pocket if I am wearing one. Sometimes when I put my winter coat away, the next winter when I bring the coat out, money is still in it, and its sorta like a christmas present.

My wallet (colorful woven Guatemalan) has a zippered compartment for the change.

What about change?

Ugh.. On the rare occaision I actually pay cash for something, change immediately goes into my pocket then gets thrown into the change jar at home. Thank the gods for debit cards.

Cargo pants are amazing to store stuff in...

Sometimes I think I have as much stuff in there as I would in a purse...

Wallet, Keys, Phone, a Nintendo DS, its charger, pens, a water bottle...

I've done all of that in a pair of pants before... :p

I have to agree with Vanessa. Cargo pants are the way to go. I usually have way more pockets then I have things to put in them. Its hard to run with the pockets full but how often do i have to run.
