hello i live in canada and i am currently in a 6 month wait to get my hrt, i have gotten a psychologists referral letter to start my hrt and my gp has booked me an appointment to see an endo, which in alberta is about 4 to 6 months, one thing i am wondering about is surgery's in my area and if there are any requirements before i can become eligible to get them
one thing that i desperately want before i start my real life test is to get a tracheal shave, it is a major man marker, does anyone in my area know if there is any restrictions on getting that procedure done?
also i plan on getting brow bossing reduction with orbital raise and a rhinoplasty which will be half paid by gov't healthcare due to it being a deviated septum, is there any restrictions on these surgeries also?

I would wait on the FFS until after you start HRT. There are suggestions "out there" on how long you should wait, I don't recall them exactly, but the general idea is to give the HRT time to work. As for the trach shave, that's more often an issue of self-perception then it is anything else. Give yourself a chance to attempt less invasive means then full blown surgery.
Don't buy the hype that you won't pass WITHOUT FFS.

Hi! I'm in Edmonton, and I got a tracheal shave in November. There were no restrictions but I did have to pay for it and I needed to get referred to the doctor who does them here, I believe he is the only one who does them. Msg me if you want more details :)
The other surgeries shouldn't have restrictions on them either. You are lucky you can get them partially covered.

well the tracheal shave is really the only surgery i want to get and it will probably be atleast 6 months into starting hrt, i can probably go without the other surgeries and pass perfectly fine since i feel i could pass currently its just i don't want to wear a scarf forever lol
