Title: Hi :)
Post by: Karii Cloud on March 06, 2011, 05:37:05 PM
Hi everybody. I am at the beginning of the end of my pre-transition. I'm looking for advice, support, and friendship and hope to find it here. I don't know what I would have done without the brave women that came before me.

PS
I can't find the options to change my avatar, signature ect. If someone could PM me with some help I would be very appriciative.

Thanks for listening!

Hi Karii, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 5700 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister/brother/Andro/member. :icon_hug:

Hi Karii

Very welcome to the forum honey.
To inform you....I've read your blog and what keeps me thinking about was the last phrase that you are feeling lonely.
Well, the good news is sweety, you don't have to be lonely anymore, coz you've got friends all over the world now.
You can chat, telling all about your hope's, fears, or ideals and there will always be an ear to listen and to answer you.
Now you are with people who are in the same boat, so we know what you're dealing with.
There are a lot of people with expiriences and knowledge so, feel free to make advantage of it.

I hop you will have a great time here and that you will see it as a sort of homecoming.

Hugs for a lonely sister

Thanks so much for your kind words! It's amazing to really feel the support of the e-Trans community. I' m glad that I finally started to post. The little that I have posted has been such release. I have friends that I talk to about it, and have one TS friend. Other than her, I dont think anyone can really empathize or completly understand what I am going through, other than those that have gone through the same or similar issues.

Thanks again
-Karii

I have been amazed at the out pouring of kind words. I have a meeting with my GT tomorrow, and I can't wait to talk about how much more supported I feel now that I am part of a community that understands, and can truly empathize with what I(and everyone else here) am/is going through.

**Steps onto soap box**

I try to comment, but I still get very shy because the experiances and prospective that people give here is so personal that I am really afraid of treading on ppls toes. Specially as a "newb".

That being said, I believe that The Next Generation (TNG...dangerously close to sounding like a Trekkie, which I am not) TS women under 35 have a completly different set of advantages, and challenges that we have to deal with in our lives, and just because we are young and have not "lived" with GID GD, or whatever for as long as older women that are very quick with pithy advice.

My advice?

My advice is to keep your journey yours. To look to other for support in times of need is imparitive, but one must, at all costs, realize and rationalize that in this journey, like all other important events in life we are alone.

The last sentance sounds alot more depressing than I imagined it coming out. I don't feel like that makes it a foil, but a great oppertunity for self discovery. Alone does not nesicarrily mean lonely, just like lonely dosen't nessicarily mean alone.

**Steps off soap box**

Oh look! I just dropped two pennies on the ground!
