Melissa and I had lunch with Caith last week in Charlotte and I just wanted to let everyone know what a sweet and intelligent lady that she is. The restaurant that she suggested was awesome and it was a truely wonderful experience! She even warned me about the bakery display before we went in but it entrapped me anyways... lol.

I second that! Thank Caith! I'll never forget loosing Stacy to the dessert cabinet for ten minutes... Never had dessert as an appetizer before either... lol

Seriously, it was a RARE pleasure to meet Stacy and Melissa in person. We were able to talk like old friends just sitting down face-to-face. While the internet and all it's magic allows us to span thousands of miles in seconds, nothing beats the real-life experience of sharing time with like-minded friends.
I tried to warn them both off the dessert case, but Stacy couldn't be persuaded. One of the restaurant owners is a world-class pastry chef. At least Stacy chose a light, flaky pastry. :) The carrot cake and mile-high chocolate cake are my favorite weaknesses. I've given up both of them for several months now. :(

In hindsight, I was wishing I had ordered the Carrot Cake appetizer instead. There wer jsut too many choices and I was overwhelmed after not taking my ADHD medication... lol.

I am Sooo jealous of you girls !!! Don't tell me they had napoleons (my favorite). Or else I just might have to make the trip.

The wife and I went back there for dinner last night. To celebrate having lost twenty pounds since last November, I splurged and had a bite of the carrot cake. It was just as delicious as I remembered, but I avoided most of the outside frosting and only ate what was between the layers. When they say "buttercream", they mean real butter. I'd have taken a picture of the dessert case for everyone's benefit, but then thought I'd spare you all the torture. Seriously, my biggest decision last night was whether to have my beloved carrot cake, or a slice of their incredible "Espresso Latte'" cheesecake. I decided against the cheesecake, strictly because I didn't want to consume caffeine that late on a weeknight.
